Fable 2 and the dog

Look, I'm just not a dog person and quite frankly I think this will ruin an otherwise great RPG.  A familiar would be much better a cat, mountain lion, panther, monkey - some choice of what you want to follow you around the whole game.  Forcing everyone to scoop up after their dog doesn't sound too fun...just my opinion.  I was looking forward to this game until Sir Peter announced this great new addition to the game.  Any other traditional RPG's coming out for 360?  Wasn't looking for nintendogs with swords.

same, and like he said if you don't want, you don't have to take care of the dog or anything.

hmmmm, so now we're arguing about the dog in fable 2? Just when I thought I was getting too old (26) for this site something brings me back. Perhpas they should allow us to replace the dog with the conventional arrow or red indicator on the map. This way everyone is partially happy. I say partially because we will still find something to complain about.

Yes, your cat would certainly be able to attack those enemies and defend you. "KITTY, USE EYE SCRATCH ATTACK!" "oh... so Cats are vulnerable to stomping eh? live and learn".

The dog just happens to be the perfect fit for the scenario, dogs are loyal and take orders, dogs are strong enough to do some damage to enemies and dogs are intelligent enough to navigate terrain and stay with you.

Cats? ... your cat could umm... distract the enemies by like... well no I guess Cats in this game would be alot like cats in real life, completely and utterly useless.

And no, I would not rather have a dragon or some other fictitious creature beside me, because the object of the dog is to create an emotional attachment to it, I don't think at any point I would feel like reaching over and petting my cute gigantic fire breathing breathing dragon until he drifts off to sleep.

The option to leave your dog behind is always there, but seriously, why don't you invest some time in learning how and when to critique a video-game, because calling out a game like fable 2 based on the dog alone is one of the most ridiculously stupid things I have seen happen on these forums.
