For me the game was going really well, until I got to the ending. No final boss, no big final battle. I was so expecting Lucien to turn into a big mutant monster or something, but NOTHING!? OMG! He just stands there blabbing, you shoot him and that's it!!!

Who else thinks Fable 2 would have been a much better game with a final boss fight?

The story is very good if you read up on it actually. I cant wait for a continuation of the story to see whats up with Theresa and Rose.

It's fine if you liked it. I didn't particularly care about any of the characters or what was going to happen next. Fable definitely has its strong points, I just don't think the story was one of them. Bioshock for example had a great story with interesting twists. Fable's story was dull and predictable.

Yeah the ending was quite an anti-climax for me.

I didn't even continue playing after that.

It's a shame, because I really loved the first Fable and to some degree the second one, but the ending really messed it up for me.

The ending was dissapointing. I had fun up to the end, which kinda just left me sitting there like, "huh." If you haven't though, check out Fallout 3. Badass, especially if you liked Bioshock and Oblivion.

Comparing the story line to the other 2 360 WRPG's i have completed, Mass effect and oblivion, it was disappointing. You can't disagree though the story is better than oblivions, atleast all of the charachters out of fable aren't cardboard cutouts. It was really short also.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. If it is disappointing compared to Oblivion's story how can it be better?

For me, I really enjoyed the game and actually I am going back through with new character (being evil). I found the ending to be very anti-climatic but it still didn't take away from the fact that I enjoyed the game throughout. I look forward to the DLC and whatever sequels they are planning.

The final boss isn't the end of the game, it's the choice you make after thats the true ending. And IMO that is one of the greatest endings for a game I have played.

Whoever said that Oblivion had a great story is dim. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Oblivion, but the 2 biggest downers were the crummy main story and the same sissy fighting from Morrowind. I stab something with a sword with my 3 different swings, blood, it falls to the ground, repeat for next enemy...Or lets fling magic your way and see what happens this time, ow wait it's all the same boring thing, not too mention the horrible bows, HA. And there is no way you got involved with the lame characters for the main quest, maybe the side quests, but not the main. Boring story with repeated, ow lets destroy this gate or have you fetch this from a cave just because we need it to stop them, wooped dee doo, Fable 2 was much better in the aspects of combat (magic, weapons, etc) and story with unique characters.

The storyline was rather predictable. It was still enjoyable nonetheless except for the ending that is. If the final battle was that with the giant shard after travelling through Reaver's Passage, then they made it way too easy. I don't think that the "supposed" final boss should have been Lucien, but perhaps if they had given him an all-powerful bodyguard (with the Commandant being rather too easy to kill) then it would have made the ending a bit more enjoyable for me at least. The rest of the storyline was also too easy. For example at the Bandit Coast where there is probably about 50 Bandits, all that it takes is one swipe of my Hammer, or one shot from my pistol to dispatch them? I know that bandits are supposed to be lesser opponents but if they're in such large numbers should it not be difficult to kill them? Despite that I thought that the final 3 choices at the end of the game gave the game a little bit of a twist. I also believe that Lionhead should have made the continuation of the Fable series slightly less obvious. Anyway, that's just my view on the game. =)

Boss fight would of been awesome, I listened to everything Lucien said and when he finished that smartass hero with the gun (forgot his name) shot him and said, "Sorry did you want to shot him?" I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO KILL MY MAIN ENEMY IN THE GAME!!! /rage.

Does anyone know anything about a fable 3 being released? I would love to see the developement of Bowerstone 100 years after fable 2...

lol ok so, when I finished this game, it was so anticlimactic it was hilarious. There he was, by a deep well or whatever it was, spewing his lame monologue, and I just interrupted him with a gunshot to the face after which he promptly fell down the hole. I have never laughed so hard at a video game in my life. I wish I had a video of it.

What I'm about to say isn't a spoiler, more like de-spoiler. Rose has no part in Fable 3, if you ask me for proof I'll palm your face. Back on the lionhead forums, a dev answers a few non story wrecking things, like who or what won't be in it. Theresa is in also, but doesnt seem like anything more then a guide still. Actually she seems like half the guide she was.

Having just played through recently i concur with the general lackluster sentiment. I had my doubts however and so wasn't as harshly surprised. I knew how many people were upset by the first one (including its length as well) so i waited for it to go to platinum hits and only spent the $20, its was worth that much but barley.

The story was essentially non-present throughout the game so i wasn't surprised there was no end boss battle either because for a majority of the game i wasn't sure who the main villain or faction was supposed to be anyway.

For the most part the gameplay at least was entertaining.

Nah, Fable 2 wasn't a fail. What is a fail is the crazy amount of necros going on, did anybody even bother to look at the date?
