About 7 of my friends who have bought Fable 2 at midnight last night, came to school saying how they're Xbox 360's Red Ring'd on them. At first I thought it was just a coincidence that one of them said it, then 6 more of my friends told me about it. So far, i only know of 2 people who havent got Red Ring'd yet. Anyone else have this problem too?
Im just going off what other people said. Im not a troll, I have a playstaiton 3 and a 360, you can add me on XBL to prove it. i didnt know they cant cause red rings, so sorry.
Yeah as far as I knew "Red ring of death" is a hardware failure so unless your friends dipped the disc in petrol, lit it and then tried to play, it was probably something else
Yes, it's true. If you cheated in the Fable Pub Games and used the glitch to get a large amount of money, your 360 will automatically get the RROD. I didn't believe it at first but it happened to 37 of my friends.
I got the RROD last night playing Fable 2. But it was a long time coming (launch console). Im just glad it lasted so long, just not happy it decided to die a couple of days after my warranty expired. But went out and bought a new one when i picked up Far Cry 2 today.
Games don't cause RROD. The explanation to this is a combination of bad luck and the fact that hyped games get played alot. More play time and more people playing causes RROD numbers to be higher on big profile games. Remember when people thought Gears of War caused RROD? Yeah same thing applies to Fable 2. Your playing it alot and you were unlucky and your console overheated.
Everyone is raising good point........Newer games do tend to get blamed for the "RROD" mostly because they get played for stupidly long times.........I bet if you ask your friends the majority had given the game an all night session

Maybe all of your friends played the game for an extrmemely long time overheating their 360's

Do games cause trhe RROD? Yes they do. Certain games will use more bandwith on the GPU, which has the most substandard thermal solution on the motherboard, making it alot hotter, warping the mobo, and flexing the solder joints.
Sure some games can put more strain on the console than others. If your xbox RROD'd then it's not Fable's fault. It's Microsoft's for making a faulty console. It was a ticking time bomb. It would of died sooner or later.
Eh, no. Playing so long that your system overheats causes the RROD. Try installing to the HDD if you insist on pulling an all nighter, seems to help me on games that glitch or freeze up on me.
actually yes if you get a bugged game it can cause it,me for example, i played perfect dark zero just before goin to walmart, come home with saints row, i get this message please put this disc in an xbox 360 console,
somthing in the game had to have cause my disc drive to not read it may have been demagnitized or somthing
also while playin saints row my first ever rrod ocured out of the blue the 2nd came when loading wwe smack down vs raw 2007

Your entire theory is based on the fact that the GPU will get hot enough simply from increased bandwidth usage to warp the motherboard..
Hi I am new too Xbox360 and all its tech , I have at least 8 friends who have had their Xbox red ring ,what games they were playing I have no idea. My Xbox red ringed , I Had fans added too it , and has not red ringed since , then I hear from my repairman that all RR go too EA games for repair's (or bandaids) too be sold as preowned you get back new insides with your old shell,thus the circle turns !!! Is this ture ?? ,and if so 'Microsoft SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM IN THEIR FAULTY XBOX,S STRAIGHT UP!!! "
