Fable 2 gamesaves corrupted?

I just went to play Fable II after not touching it for a probably like a year, and when I tried to load a game I was told all four of my character files were corrupted. That seems strange as all my other data is working fine from what I can tell. The only reason I care is that I want to be able to load my files into Fable III if I get it. So is there anything I should try here, or are my saves gone for good?

Looks like you need to start the game over. There's a few weeks between now and F3, so you have the time.

meh. I guess, I logged a ton of time on my other saves though, kind of frustrating. What causes this kind of stuff anyway?
