I don't understand where all the hate for Fable II came from?

I own both and find both good for some the same and different reasons.

Fable 1 had great story and combat.

Fable 2 added a cool artsyle, cool weapons, and new customization options.

I wish some people could just stop being over-critical just because everyones doing it.

But Fable 2 isn't horrible right?

I agree with the difficulty.

Here were the flaws, IMO: - Way too short - Way too easy - Way too little clothing It's nice with what they did, there just wasn't enough. Still a great game, though. I loved the whole total of 20 whopping hours I spent on it. Got bored right after beating it; sold it.

I thought Fable 2 was a great game. Easy yes but still good and the DLC they added to it brought in new clothes and items. Just because its easy dosent make it bad. It had good visual styles, the combat wasent have bad, and the choices and alignment traits were good as well.

I really enjoyed Fable 2. My favorite part was going around and buying all the property. What I would have liked is for it to be a little more difficult to buy property though. For example, in Oblivion I had to go around to each town and find that one house where I wanted to live in, because of budget constraints, that's all I could afford. In Fable 2, my indecision isn't an issue because I can buy the whole world.

Another thing I would have liked was for the camera to be a little closer. It would be more immersive. Fun game. I agree that there is far too much hate.

you want to know why people hate it? it's the people who got the game first week it came out and all they did in the game was the main missions and nothing more.... well that wasn't issue for me i love going off doing other stuff in games

  • Boring story
  • Boring combat
  • Magic system is nearly broken to the point of unplayable
  • For a game that was supposed to be immersive like no other game, i felt so alone.
  • Too easy
  • Small scale for an RPG.

The only things I liked about Fable 2 were exploring, the art style and the dog.Very mediocre if you ask me.

Pretty Much sumed it up. Too Short and Really Easy. Also the ending SUCKED. It took away a mechanic and called you a jerk if wanted it back. Also that last boss was very anti climatic.

PS - The Knothole Island DLC is rubbish, you can only complete it if your a good character

*hides my Fable II Limited Edition sleeve*

Regardless of when I bought my copy, my complaints with the game are the fact that Molyneux chatted up how revolutionary and sold us on how great the new game was over the first, when all it really added was a dog, a family, and a heavy-handed, meaningless choice "ending". The story was crap and gave you no options on how to actually play it out beyond a few, incredibly obvious and pittance morality choices. The NPCs were only slightly more human or interesting than the identical NPCs from the first; combat and magic were both stripped down versions of their previous incarnations, even the Colosseum was worse.

I played and finished Fable 2. I thought it was a decent action adventure game with a touch of RPG elements. Overall, it's a shallow game. The controls seem clunky and awkward. Combat should be smooth and seemless. Other side things to do like get married, start a family, buy and own property, were terribly implemented and does not mesh well with the game at all. It wasn't even needed. Without going into any detail, some of the ideas in this game made no sense. I felt awkward playing it. Graphics weren't that great either.

Fable 2 was a very good game but the difficulty is just laughable. I know difficult games can be a turnoff btu when there as easy as this you dont feel as if you have acomplished anything beating the game.

The gameplay is boring and just not very good, with no consequence if you die. I can think of much better action RPGs with MUCH better mechanics.

Very lacking on content, and hell, it's buggier than Daggerfall. Well, maybe not so much now, after patches.

But on a smaller note, the whole new system of using Will was pretty boring, all the spells were used in the same fashion, it got redundant. I hope mana comes back and the old use of Will as well. Other than those three issues, there's not much I found problems with, really.

A lot of the hate for Fable 2 is because it wasn't released on the PC. "Hell hath no fury like a Hermit scorned"...lol. Just look at Alan Wake to see what I mean.

I really enjoyed Fable 2. I've played through it, and it's expansions quite a few times. I found the second one to be more enjoyable than the first one. Of course I tend to like games with more action in them. Yeah it had it's flaws. The ending sucked, It was short, etc, etc, but I did find it to be an a lot of fun.

I like Fable 2 very much actually, one of my favorites. I have heard a lot of people complain that the ending lacked something to be desired, because there was no epic boss fight. I personally liked the ending, it was different, and had meaning and I was not expecting it at all. I do agree that it isn't very hard but I do not see a problem with this, because I found it very fun and it kept me addicted for a little while. It is intriuging so that makes up for the challenge (or lack there of). The only problem I had with the game were the numerous little glitches that were just tedious and annoying, things that should have been fixed. My husband would dissapear, I couldn't change certain furniture in my house, items in the store's inventory would not restock. Things like that, but they are very easily overlooked. Over all an excellent game with minor annoyances.

That's pretty much how I felt. I also found every other game play element quite boring as well(jobs/missions/etc). It seems like young gamers would like it, but that's obviously not who the game was targeted to, what with it being rated M(not that it stops anyone).

I loathed the dog not only was it disappointing that the dog wasn't shaped by the way your hero acted as promised but the barking drove me mad after spending 20hrs with the game.

Compared to just about any other rpg, it was shallow. Felt like rpg lite. The world was very closed off.

I like Fable right up until you get taken prisoner, after that it went downhill rapidly for me. The ending is one of the worst in recent memory, I hadn't felt so screwed over since the end of starfox adventures.

i agree with this.. the world while bigger..seemed smaller. it's like they force the DLC on u to make the game somewhat complete. The rpg elemnts were very shallow and tacky.

It could probably be considered short if you only go for the story, but I had loads of fun doing some random and unimportant stuff. The game has a lot to offer besides the story. My only complaint would be that I find the combat system a bit too shallow.

I thought it was pretty good and I pulled an all-nighter the first day I got it...Don't think I'll get 3 tho.
