I'm a big fan of the Fable series. I played the first Fable the first week it came out. Pre ordered the second one but held off of for the third one. My friend let me borrow Fable 3 and I was playing it for about two hours and was surprised to find myself bored with it. I put it down and came back a day later but couldn't get more than 20 minutes into it without resisting the urge to turn it off....It just feels like Fable 2.5. Things are slightly refined but I played Fable 2 , 6 times or so an it just feels like i'm starting over AGAIN. Does anyone one else feel this?

OT, and I don't mean to thread hijack, but would you recommend playing Fable 2 before 3? I mean is it really necessary?

Well my girlfriend has been playing Fable 3 all day now so I've seen a bit of it and I would say that it's not needed to play Fable 2 before Fable 3. The series always takes place over a generation apart. The most they do is say "Well there used to be this great hero"sorta thing.

Yeah I played all the way through it. But I agree the fun factor went way down. My biggest complaint was there was really no noticeable change in your charactors appearance, when your making decision throughout, that was probably the coolest factor fable had going for them. Fable 2 was a much better game in my opinion.

It's not very different from Fable 2. I felt let down, honestly. I felt like it was the same thing, but with a few extra things and a new environment. I'll buy it when it's around $20. Or my room mate will buy it lol. Still a fun game, though.

The first 5 hours was horrible, if you can survived the first 5 hours you will love it even more than Fable 2.

Unfortunately, if you tend to follow the story line, the first five hours is all you'll need to beat the game. =( I'm a Fable fan -- and I was disappointed with Fable III immensely. "Fable 2.5" is an accurate description. While I found the slight upgrade visually to be nice, the game (at release, I haven't played since that first week or so) was wrought with bugs. You could spend hours on a character, only to fall through a map and lose all ability to progress in the game. I tend to suggest borrowing it from a friend or waiting til the price is low before playing it -- it isn't worth more than twenty dollars.

I didn't find that at all. For me the last couple of hours of the game were the worst. I absolutely hated the ending, I thought that Fable 2's ending was anticlimatic but it was epic compared to Fable 3.

I wouldn't say it is boring, but to me it sure isn't as good as Fable 2.

I also really don't like the new emotion / interaction process. They should have kept the selection wheel format.
as a guy the last thing I want to do is dance with another guy or play paddy cake with another guy, just to up his approval
The beginning is always boring but i find that the novelty of gaining properties and completing EVERTHING is part of the amusement.

I disagree, i played through Fable 2 at least 10 times for fun, not even achievements and still had a ton of fun each time. I played Fable 3 ONCE and never went back, not even bothering for achievements. I felt really let down and I pre ordered the game. Probably my biggest let down of 2010.

I actually liked it more than Fable 2. I wish the story was a little longer, but overall I liked how everything was more streamlined and didn't have unnecessary menus and stuff. The co-op system in Fable 3 is also a lot better.

One thing that I definitely wish they did improve though was the combat. Do SOMETHING to make it more fun/challenging.

May I ask what made Fable 2 so fun? I played both games only once, except I'm atleast somewhat interested in playing Fable 3 again if it weren't for other games to play.

The games cheerfeulnees kept me coming back. The game was just oozing with entertaining side quests and locations to explore. Plus your decisions actually effected your appearence.

I liked Fable 3. It wasn't the greatest game ever, but I enjoyed it. The magic was overpowered and the balverines were glitchy pains in the butt, but it still seemed like a step up from Fable 2. They both pale in comparison to the first game, though.

After 60 hours in Fable 3 i am still not bored and still finding secrets

If you like a complex world to explore, then i dont see how Fable 3 can become boring, it is one of the best in that regard

I did like Fable 1 better though and the combat was very boring, in fact they should have done away with combat altogehter, it is meaningless

Fable 1 and Fable 3 are both far better than Fable 2 in every way

I found Fable 3 good until the bit where you become king. It just seemed like it built up and then just flopped. But yeah, some bits are pretty boring.
