I haven't purchased my copy of Fable 3 yet, but is it really only worth a 7.5? I know Gamespot can be critical of some titles, but I wanted to hear it from most of the gamers up here who already played their copy.

For me Fable 3 can best be described like this.

Did you play saints row 2? You knew the game wasnt near perfect, but it was a $%@#load of fun anyways.

Fable 3 is the same. Its not perfect by any means, but its just alot of fun. Its worth more than a 7.5, its definitely more of a 8-8.5. Love the game, having alot of fun with it.

It has a lot of little glitches, it's pretty easy, relatively simply combat, and simple leveling system, and the Good and Evil path don't seem to really affect me (I'm still early in the game) as of yet but it's a ridiculous loads of fun.

The good and evil paths really kick in when you become king. As for the combat i quite enjoy it, spell-weaving is a great addition. My tornado ice-storms kill all!But it is pretty easy thought. Although i havent come across many glitches. We should play co-op and go on a mass killing spree :P

This game is awesome if you played Fable 2 and were disappointed this one makes up for it . I honestly found Gamespots review alittle harsh and Misleading to be quite honest . This game has amazing art , humor is awesome , the world is way better to explore , i thought all the side quest so far have been very very entertaining . but if you like fable like me you will buy this game .

I'm hating it. It's too simple, the goofiness is elementary, the graphics are terrible, the framerate drops badly, not many options for a so called rpg

At least I died a couple of times in Fable. I completed Fable 2 without dying. All you have to is spam the environmental fire spell. Everything else was pretty much useless. Despite that, I loved the game. As for Fable 3, I got my copy today and I'm loving it so far. Basically if you like Fable 2, you'll love this one.

The graphics are great, but the combat is repetitive and really easy, the leveling has been dumbed down, the emote things have been simplified even more, it's ridiculously easy to get tons of gold, and once again it's alot easier to be evil then good. I think gamespot's reviews have been getting better, not worse.

Gaming Trend9.1/10 Beautiful world to wander through and explore Excellent voicework that comments on what you're doing The core quest is very serious and at times heart-hitting Even if you don't play Fable 3 more than once, you can expect about 20-25 hours to play through the core game, and anywhere from another 15-20 more if you decide that you want to see most of everything the game has to offer. But I'd recommend not charging straight through-go wander about and sniff the proverbial flowers and have fun exploring the world of Albion. MIG9.3/10 So, has Fable III lived up to its predecessor? Yes, it has. It's a stunningly beautiful role-playing game that's unparalleled in depth. Packed with an immersing story to keep you locked to your controller for however long you choose to play, it's backed up with some excellent side questions that add a lot of extra gaming time onto it. Do the slight combat problems take away from the game? Ever so slightly, but it doesn't stop the game from setting the role-playing game bar higher than it's ever been on the 360. Spong9.2/10 Spong -A wise man on a comedy sketch programme called The Fast Show once said, -I love being King. It really is the best job in the world!- After playing Fable III to the death, I can only agree with that sentiment Fable III is a truly great sequel lush graphics, full of humour and coated with the fantastic British sheen that only Molyneux can deliver. The attempt to refresh the series with a brilliant strategy-sim concept is stunted by Lionheads inability to flesh it out post-story. You'll play this for ages, and love every second of it too, but by the time you get to the truly special part you'll want to avoid reaching the very swift conclusion for as long as possible. Daily Game9.1/10 Much like Halo 3 felt like Bungie had -finally done what they set out to do,- Fable 3 feels like Lionhead finally delivered on the gameplay aspirations and creativity they first envisioned. The difference, though, is that Halo 3 felt a lot like I'd been there and done that, whereas Fable 3 has changed so much, and so much for the better, that I really can't wait to get back into Albion. In fact, I got visibly giddy after beating the last enemy and realizing that I could still wander through my land to complete quests, buy buildings and do everything I'd enjoyed doing for the previous 15 hours. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a land to get back to and govern. XboxLiveAdditcs9.2/10 There is much more to Fable III, but I want you to find out for yourself, to play the game is much more than words can describe. Fable III has so much packed into it I could write a book, it's there for you to find out, explore and enjoy the story and of course there are many ways to complete the story depending on the choices you make and the route you take, but don't rush through, take your time and enjoy what this game has to offer. It is simpler to play and in parts frustrating but Fable III is definitely the best of the three and one which should be in every Xbox 360 user's collection. RPG Site9.2/10 With Fable III, Lionhead have finally achieved the perfect balance through offering their most impressive script streamlined through a quantity of refined features that provide a core experience where your very morals are repeatedly put to the test. Fulfilling promises made since the series' conception, players are now able to truly shape the very kingdom that they traverse - an accomplishment that makes the title one of the most compelling and rewarding additions to the Xbox 360 library this year. Computer and Video Games (CVG)9.2/10 - The best Fable yet - Thoroughly entertaining quests - More elegant RPG systems - Choices with consequence Mondo Xbox9.2/10 A unique game that successfully manages to blend the boundaries between action and RPG, delivering us an immediate and engrossing experience. If you're looking for is a great adventure to lose yourself in, look no further NowGamer9.2/10 Fable III represents the pinnacle of British-made game development. A stunning achievement Cheats Unlimited9.6/10 The gripping plot, excellent voice talent, smart humour and slick controls have all managed to keep my attention to the point where I am going 'okay, just 1 more chapter...' for the tenth time at 3am in the morning. This has always been my acid test for a great game, and Fable III certainly passes muster. Overall this a cracking game that, if it weren't for few minor niggles, would get a perfect score XXLGaming9.6/10 Lionhead Studios has created a game that not only RPG fans will love but one that all action adventurers should love as well. Beautiful art styles, loveable characters, and injected humor throughout the game make an epic tale in itself, but it's the fact that you will mold this tale into your own story is what makes the game so unique. Fable III offers up everything one could want in a game and more and should offer plenty of replayability not only because of co-op play but the fact that you can make so many different decisions along the way throughout the entire game. You are in control of your own destiny with Fable III and the fate of Albion lies on your shoulders. How will you rule your land? Real Gamer9.5/10 + Improved Co-op Play + Challeges your morality + Engrossing and gripping experience Fable III pushes the idea of the second game that little bit further, challenging players to prove their worth as a ruler. But not only that gives you a great deal of freedom on how you do it making it an even more engrossing experience that is hard to put down once the story and world of Albion grabs you. BeefJack9.5/10 Beautifully written Superb voice acting Genuinely mature moral choices Combat honed to a fine art A real challenge A 25+ hour masterpiece, Fable III is the sum of Lionhead's ambition to make a truly groundbreaking game. Funny, inventive, polished and masterfully told, it's a game hampered by only a few minor qualms, and an absolutely essential purchase. Loot Ninja10/10 Fable III finally delivers what we have all been expecting. This is a huge sandbox game set one generation after the end of Fable 2. You are given a world in which to make your way as a hero/heroine anyway you want. Be a righteous hero and people will love you. Be a murderous tyrant and sprout demon wings. Play somewhere in between and see what happens. With a game embedded with so many choices, the possibilities are almost endless. Hardcore Gamer10/10 It's hard to talk about Fable III without heaping more and more praise on it. It's one of the best games of the year and one of the richest role-playing experiences to hit the Xbox 360. It begs to be played by anyone who appreciates a game that is expertly produced in almost every area ElectricPig10/10 Take your time with it and Fable 3 is one of the most lovingly created RPG experiences around. Fable 3 looks and feels great in almost every department. The new additions and tweaks are still genuinely refreshing. The map is a godsend, the sanctuary a revelation, the visuals warm and welcoming, the story, well told and the characters the most charming you'll come across. The experience is as plentiful as you want it to be, yet short for others. That doesn't stop it being a must-have for Fable fans. Fable 3 is still one of the best RPG experiences around TheSixthAxis10/10 You could drone on and on about the intricate details of this game, how you'll visit familiar places, see familiar faces and be a part of some ridiculously inventive quests along the way but it's easier sign off by stating what should by now be obvious; Lionhead studios have created a masterpiece and, whilst it does have some minor imperfections, it's as close to a perfect adventure game as you're likely to find nowadays SFX-3609.8/10 The replay value of this game is endless and fun. Once you beat the game there is a lot of side quest still to finish, money to be earned, and joining people in Co-Op adds to the fun. If you enjoy joining someone's game killing an entire town and then leave. Here are some real reviews Fable 3 is my best game this generation, i have never played anything as refreshing and unique in years, a true masterpiece As for Gamespot review, it is the worst site for reviews, flops all best games(Lost Odyssey, Alan wake, Mass Effect 1, Fable 2-3 etc), so i would not even cosider this review at all

Dam, that's not good news for me is it? I didn't like Fable 2 but Fable 3 looked more promising at least. Hmmm. I'll still give it a try.

Yeah, I didn't agree with they're score on Fable 3 (or New Vegas for that matter)

On a slightly related note...How hard would it be to put a hard difficulty level? I mean all they have to do is double the prices of everything, and double the enemies HP. That's all I'm asking X/

I will 1000% agree with that one, it puzzles me too, it would be so simple and would save the game all that bashing

They're real reviews cuz no one knows who they are? or because they like you think a repetitive, easy game is amazing? Fable 2 was even worse, ME1 had some of the worst combat in a 3rd person shooter I'd ever played, and Lost Odyssey was extremely repetitive. Although I would agree if you said that GS gives some games too high of a score, but no this game doesn't deserve more then an 8.

Try Jade Empire it's for the original xbox and its also on XBL. It's easily the best RPG ever. The combat is always fresh, it's hard but not F(*& hard. The story cannot be surpassed.

I have to say that i cannot believe that gamespot have only given it a 7.5, in my books its a 10! I have only been playing it for a little while but so far so good, and gamespot said it was too easy, it may be quite easy for some but i know tha there are some bits that are there to try you, espesh when there are loads of bandits coming at you at once!

Try Jade Empire it's for the original xbox and its also on XBL. It's easily the best RPG ever. The combat is always fresh, it's hard but not F(*& hard. The story cannot be surpassed.

Opinion and perspective, my good sir. One man's trash is another man's treasure. If it's a ten for him, let him be.

I find that most reviewes of games are a bit low, me and the hubby both enjoyed Arcania Gothic 4 which also had a low review.

On Fable, I feel its a bit of a 'girly' game, I enjoyed Fable 2 and clocked it 3 times, where as my husband started a new game and never finished.I definitely am getting Fable 3!

That is totally wrong, out of 84 reviews, only 11 are below 8/10 and 35 are 9/10 and above, meaning that good reviews are vastly more than mediocre ones That is a fact, look here http://n4g.com/tag/home/fable-3_xbox-360 Gamespot in the tiny minority that did not like the game

I was actually speaking of Gamespots reviews on games since the thread was started with Gamespots lower review score of Fable3. I have found that the games I like scores low on Gamespot.

I have noticed the exact same thing All my best games like Mass Effect 1, Fable 2-3, Lost Odyssey, Blau Dragon, Fallout Vegas etc have got extremely low scores here and some of the lowest out of all their reviews I fully consider Gamespot the new Edge, a 7/10 here can be anything from 9-10/10 in the real world

I'm not trying to start something but this is the same reviewers and site that gave Demon's Souls GOTY over Uncharted 2 last year. The only place that did it as far as I know.

If your not sure about a game rent it and try it out don't base your game purchases on someone's OPINION. To me Fable 3 should have easily got a 9, but then that's just me.

Didn't Fable & Fable II have the same problem of being too easy?

Fable 1 could actually be somewhat challenging if you didn't bother leveling up.

[QUOTE="nottu"] They're real reviews cuz no one knows who they are? or because they like you think a repetitive, easy game is amazing? Fable 2 was even worse, ME1 had some of the worst combat in a 3rd person shooter I'd ever played, and Lost Odyssey was extremely repetitive. Although I would agree if you said that GS gives some games too high of a score, but no this game doesn't deserve more then an 8. AbleFa3

Of course we all have our opinions, what Fable 3 offers is my thing, from the art, to the simulation, the unique quests, great story, adventure and strategy elements, the overworld map etc I cant think of any game doing so much stuff i like at once, so i will definatly give it a 10/10 since it is my best game so far over any other As for beeing the only one on the planet that would give it a perfect or great score Loot Ninja10/10Hardcore Gamer10/10ElectricPig10/10TheSixthAxis10/10SFX-3609.8/10Cheats Unlimited9.6/10XXLGaming9.6/10Real Gamer9.5/10BeefJack9.5/10

I'm sorry but that sentence always make me mad. "Don't base it on someone's OPINION." If someone makes a job at reviewing games, they should tell the pro's and con's, if they didn't like, doesn't mean bash it. If I need a check-up and the Doctor tells me he doesn't like X brand of medicine, but Y brand, I will listen to him because this is his expertise.

On topic: I am looking forward to picking this game up sometime over the weekend.

I would NOT give it a perfect score and I am one of the biggest fable lovers around. I LOVE IT dont get me wrong, and i would give it an 8.5-9. 7.5 is complete BULL. one of the worst reviews i've ever seen. Fable 3 is an improvement over fable 2 in many ways, but i agree in the sense that it's over simplified a bit. The fact i can't go up to whoever i want and do any expression really kills alot of the interaction that i loved in fable 2. I DONT WANNA DANCE WITH EVERY GUY IN ALBION WTF. the combat is also a tad over simplified in the sense (now it may be unlocked in the future, correct me if i'm wrong) that you can't sub target. I miss head, arm, leg, groin shots.

i love most of the other changes in the game, and i figure they will fix some of the bugs (bread crumb trail SUCKS right now)

the only site whcich reviews I enjoy and mostly share some opinions with is gametrailers, so far Gamespot seems to go too harsh with bugs and stuff like that...in most games, and sometimes they praise some games with little innovation or downgraded, while destroying some for the same reasons, the chief editor should give cohesion to the sites reviews

I dont use Metacritic, it has only 1/10 of actual reviews and some laughable sites in there, i prefer the full review list myself, the only real way to see what all reviewers think http://n4g.com/tag/reviews/fable-3_xbox-360 This is the link, i just posted a few reviews, not all

Metacritic gives you an average of some of the more popular and reliable websites' reviews. I've never even heard of some of the sites and magazines you posted.

Actually it gives a list of some sites, 90% of which i have never heard of So why use it ? It is totally useless, when ican see all reviews and make up my mind the best way possible As for Gamespot beeing reliable, well, not to me, they scored my best games the lowest scores possible, and dont tell me that all of Fable 2-3, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Alan Wake as craps but somehow games like Uncharted 2, MGS4 and Halo are perfect, for me is the exact opposite

Opinion and perceptive. You don't have to agree with them. It's just one review, anyway. Besides, it doesn't matter what you say, Gamespot isn't going to change their score.

I never said they would,i just post how the real world outside Gamespot is, and it is 35 reviews 9/10 and above and only 11 reviews below 8/10 and a 8.5/10 average And here is The gamespot theory 360 Grand Theft Auto IV 10.0 Gears of War 9.6 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 9.6 Halo: Reach 9.5 Red Dead Redemption 9.5 Forza Motorsport 3 9.5 The Orange Box 9.5 Halo 3 9.5 Forza Motorsport 2 9.2 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 9.2 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 9.1 PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 10.0 Grand Theft Auto IV 10.0 Red Dead Redemption 9.5 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 9.5 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 9.5 It is one RPG (lucky one) with long history and many fans and everything else is shooters/racers So, 7.5/10 would be 9.5/10 if Fable 3 was a linear shooter or had Halo name on it Gamespot is a big site, their reviews are predefined and the above list clearly shows it, has zero credibility to me, since i liked Alan Wake, Fable 2-3, Demons Souls, Mass Effect 1-2, Fallout Vegas, Lost Odyssey etc vastly better than all the above titles

The thing is, most of those games deserve the rating they got. For the most part, if you look on those websites which you so seemingly love, you'll probably find similar scores.

So they scored Fable 3 at 7.5, who cares? They stated why they did so. They also stated that it was very fun. And last time I checked 7.5 is still a good score.

So why are you so upset by this?

Who said i am upset by Gamespot score ? Only with the people that bash Fable 3 because of that score, like all other ones dont exist
