[QUOTE="SavageM2"]I think just Fable II right now, most likely using it to see if the idea should be implemented in force. ya but i'm sure this will be one to games that microsoft owns first and fast. i can see halo 3 going up there soon. i'm surprised that halo 2 isn't up there yet . i think the ideal work as long as they keep price the same or less then retailer. 1 part is better then a demoThat is pretty interesting. I wonder what other games are doing this, if any at this time.

do achievements unlock too?xfactor19990not sure i have aready played fable 2 and downloaded the part to see whats up. i wouldn't see why not because it's not classified as a demo. you would only get 50gs or so out of first part anyways and since people try get as much gs out game they can this could also tie into the strategy to get you buy
unless its microsoft never gives customers stuff for free :PMS and the word "free" should never ever be on the same sentence.

do achievements unlock too?xfactor19990Only once you buy part 2. I just played it last night. I dropped 2 hours running around going everywhere that dumb gold line told me not to go. It was pretty fun I suppose, but I'm not buying it until the platinum hits comes out next month that will have all the DLC on it. I waited this long, what is one more month?
try the free download, If you like it then buy it on disc. It's cheaper (as someone already mentioned) and it will save some space on your hard drive. Fable should take about 2-6 GB, its a big game!

Part 2 has to be downloaded before the achievements unlock, not just purchased. Its a really ghetto system; you can buy part II thru the game, but it doesn't show up on live.
[QUOTE="PlasmaBeam44"]That's actualy a pretty good deal since the new game is like $45 or $40 used Where are you at exactly? You can even get the limited edition for $30 on amazon. And walmart had it for $30 where I'm at... though their online store saying $40. GameStop has it for $25 or $30.You get the first part free and the other 4 parts are $10 a piece. It's really a good deal.

Molyneux himself talked about 'demoing' games like this is a more proper way. Looks like MS took it to heart rather fast.-eddy-I think this way of doing it is great - you get to try a decent chunk of the full game for free, and can decide if you want to buy it or not. I certainly won't buy it through the download service because it costs so much more than getting the GOTY disc version, but it is likely to get me hooked on a game I was already interested in getting. I hope more game follow this example and try unusual things like this
there is no possible way $10 each 4 part if a good deal when the game retail is $30You get the first part free and the other 4 parts are $10 a piece. It's really a good deal.

Games are expensive hereGames cost the same here as anywhere else, I dunno if you happen to live in Nunavut or something, that would make sense having games cost more up there just because its so near impossible to get anything up there, but down here in normal canada paying $40 for 4 parts of a game that retails for $40 new, and as little as $20 used is in fact a rip-off. That's MS for you though trying to make an extra buck off the air you breath
The episodic content seems pointless. It's better to just by the game or the GOTY edition on a disc for a cheaper price.

exactly. People keep talking about how digital distribution is the future but until these companies start offering up reasonable pricing hard copies will rule the day. Its so much easier just to go buy it in a store and have the whole thing.
