Fable II or Oblivion

I'm really into RPG's and I've been meaning to buy Fable II as well as Oblivion. However, after seeing the review for fable II, it looks pretty much like the same thing as oblivion.

Was it just the video or are they really the same? If so, which one would you recommend?

Actually there really not similar , that beign said I havent played Fable 2 but loved Oblivion and from what Ive seen and told by friends of Fable get Oblivion, will last you much longer , especially if you get expansions. The Main story isnt too good but everything else is great.

Out of those two get the GOTY oblivion.

I'd go for Fallout 3 over all of them but that's my opinion.

As previously stated, they are completely different games. Fable II is a good game, but Oblivion is mind blowing in its scope and execution. Oblivion also has 150+ hrs of gameplay without expansions (not a typo), and much greater depth.

It all depend's if your planning on putting alot of hours into your game then as someone above me stated you should defenitely get the GOTY edition of Oblivion, but i prefer Fable ll's setting and the the morphing of the character etc.. and also to answer they may look similar in Art style but they are very different games.

Both are great. I'd say for immediate satisfaction get Fable 2. Oblivions only around $20 now and you waited this long to get it. Just get Fable and have fun with that then pick up Oblivion whenever your done.
