How can you tell if your getting a falcon 360 just by looking at the box

I'm pretty sure all of the Elite 360s are Falcon, but I could be mistaken.GSU28
I don't believe this is true. I think they may have different disc drives or something, but Elites are not all confirmed to be Falcon models.

I heard if you sent your 360 in anytime from january this year up to now they replace your old xbox with a falcon chipeed one.

I have not heard anything about this. I only heard if they send back a different machine, it'll be a refurbished one and pretty much a roll of the dice on what exactly it is.
the best method is checking the manufactures date, which is right beside the serial #...the open area on the box. I think anything manufactured after November 2007 is Falcom but i could be wrong.
I bought a new console (after my launch stopped reading discs) in Feb 2008, manufactures date is Jan 2008 and the console works perfectly.
