fallout 3 & other rpgs

should i buy fallout i like rpgs such as fable and i loved rpgs on the pc but i do not like oblivion, and i get told there quite similar games other than the differance in scenes

says the kid with two posts to his name, come on. when people say that i wonder if they have really gotten into fallout 3 like the first posted after op the only similaritys really is world size and the animations/ first person feel.
