Fallout 3 bloody mess perk

In fallout 3 there's a perk called bloody mess and I was wondering if you don't get it, is it a serious loss? or are you still good if you don't get it?

If you get tired of bloodyand gory deaths, then do not take it. But, I really enjoy it, so it would be a big loss

I have always heard that it is a useless perk. While you destroy the bodies of your victims, it doesn't add any extra power to your character. Also, it is harder to find a piece of the body to search/loot because you blow it up so bad.

Bloody Mess adds nothing to your stats, it is simply for the visual enjoyment.

If you are concerned with building your stats, bypass this perk.

IIRC it does give you +5% damage to all attacks so it's not entirely useless.

The perk can make the then that are out of their reach. I have a sniper shooting at me when the bloody perk happen and a piece land if front of my theny I can use that piece to get the items that enemy had.

You get a minor attack bonus. I think it's worthless though. The "Bloody Mess" effect doesn't look as cool as shooting someone and having their head explode or seeing them do a back flip from the impact or go flying like 10ft in the air.

I've got the bloody mess perk and have gotten a bit tired of it. I don't even remember what the normal deaths looked like.

it makes the combat look awful, and 5% doesnt justfy getting it, BUT if you are at a stage where there are no decent perks available then go it.

I agree...I also like seeing the bodies flip around more. Just save, then do it for 10 minutes, then revert.

I've found it a useless perk, sure the blood and guts are fun at first but it gets boring quickly. One time I shot a raider in the head with a pistol and his whole body exploded, I was like wtf?
