i wanted to first say I wasn't a fan of Oblivion and have never played any previous Fallout 3 games. Fallout 3 is a game that yes I got hooked on but felt bored several times throughout. Fallout has the same repetitive songs play over and over and get really annoying and the game feels like a been there done that before type of experience. I will not say Fallout 3 is a bad game because it's not I just feel it was overrated but I still enjoy playing it.

seems more like blog material but i get what youre saying, i feel somehow similar, far from the joy that oblivion provided me but still a great game. overrated?i dont think so. i just cant figure out why did they made a world of that size with only a few missions? that disappointed me a little, but overall is a hell of a game, filled with funny moments imo.

You're entitled to your opinion as am I. I for one thought this game was amazing. Always something to do or explore. It's incredibly immersive. I couldn't get enough of the music. It's repetitive sure but it's really catchy.

He meant several times through his one playthrough of the game. I will say that the world map is a little too big but Bethesda loves to make huge game worlds, just look at Oblivion and Morrowind. Still, I think its a great game.

What too big? I thought it could have been a bit larger! I mean, the awesome landscape you can see for miles. Especially in the northern mountain range looking at those huge satalite dishes!

I was skeptic at first when started. But after a while this game grew on me and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially after picked up a friend that was a strong companion. But a great game to play... one time. I tried starting over and didnt get into the second time through. Somewhat, did enjoy some areas where was a bad karma person especially with Megaton. :D

If you weren't really a fan of Oblivion then I wouldn't really expect you to be a fan of this one. Very similar. I thought this was a great game, but just a little too short. This is coming from being a huge fan of the first 2 on PC though. Those were much longer. If anyone hasn't played it yet, make sure you do all the side quests before you complete the story mission, and IMO I feel that you have to go through this game being a a$$hole to everyone. Some of those missions are some of the best (like the slave one, and blowing up Megaton)

If you didn't like Oblivion, why did you play Fallout 3 if you knew it was going to be similar gameplay? I personally loved Fallout 3, but to each his/her own.

its one of the few games this generation that i was extremely excited to play (huge oblivion fan) but the experience in the end felt like a chore: boring imo.

I love huge game worlds, just looking out at everything around me and knowing its accessible is great, it just seems like there's just a little too much open space. I probably need to play more of the game but when I look at my map I just see all this space and although I want to explore it I'm thinking to myself, "Is there anything worth exploring out there?" Maybe I'm just not as immersed into Fallout 3 as I was with Oblivion and Morrowind because I absolutely loved exploring every single part of those game worlds but with Fallout 3, I'm just not quite feeling the same way and to be honest I can't quite figure out why because I think its an amazing game.

I love Fallout 3 but I do worry that if I explore to much I might (I'm level 10) cancel a quest and not be able to playa quest ever, or worst not find out till later that I glitched the game to the point that I would have to start over. This is really my only problem. Yesterday I was doing the GNR satellite quest and I decided to go straight to the Museum, instead of exploring the buildings around it (I.E. The mall/Underworld)
