You have too much weight in items.

When you are in your Pip-boy it tells you in the top-left corner how much weight you have and how much you can carry while still being able to run.

I hate when games force you to manage your inventory (Oblivion, Morrowwind, etc.)... I realize that realistically you should be weighed down by lots of stuff, but it gets annoying after a while when you're constantly having to drop things in order to move (mainly because I'd rather run through the real missions rather than going to storage areas to drop things off). Just let me play the game!

I like how FF games basically let you carry as much stuff as you want.

if you dont have too much extra over ur max, try any chem that increases ur strength temporarily for fast travel. but be warned: using too much can get u addicted.
