fallout 3 is too ****** epic!

all fears of me not loving the new fallout formula have been shattered, everything i didnt like about oblivion was removed, and everything i loved about fallout was added. i actually enjoy exploring in this game and the quests are fun and varied and VERY interesting (the android mission is a real good example).to be fair, the game isnt without its faults, it has a few glitches (enemies walking thru rocks and vanishing?!?!) but i find myself going "whatever" rather than "WTF" like in fable 2 (dont get me wrong, i still loved fable 2 also). this game is awesome and blew my expectations to pieces. infact, i recently looked at the clock and decided i had to stop playing, but only because it is 4:30am (thank god i dont work :P).

i dont expect everyone to agree, thats just my opinion, but i am curious to how other people feel about fallout, especially fellow fallout lovers who loved fallout since the first fallout first came out (please no, fallout wasnt the first fallout talk)

Its an amazing game, im sooo glad that they continued the epic fallout series and didnt ruin the name.

This game is great and being a fallout 1 and 2 fan i can say im pretty impressed.

Fallout 3 is a nice addition to the fallout name! Sooo glad they didnt ruin the name!

Bethesda really did a great job here keeping all the qualitys from the original fallout games!

Also my favorite improvement over Oblivion is that Fallout3 has MUCH better/more rpg elements which is very nice.

Fallout 3 is sick... gotta love the VAT kills.... slow motion exploding heads.... AWESOME!!! I like how you can click on any of the 30 pieces of the victim to collect his loot HAHAHAHAHA

one thing i think that will weigh it down is oblivion. already people have said it doesnt shake that oblivion feel.which can be a good thing or a bad thing. gamespot rated it a 9.0 whereas oblivion got 9.6. ask yourself why has fallout 3 scored lower? i dont know from what i have seen fallout 3 is everything good from oblivion with improvements.

To be honest man, the only thing that reminds me of Oblivion in Fallout3 is that they have some of the same voice actors.

The story is better, combat is alot more fun, the atmosphere is 100 times better and the soundtrack is better imo.

Only thing in fallout3 that has dissapointed me a little bit is the graphics, they are not terrible, but just not top notch.

I'm enjoying it. The only thing I dislike (rather minor) is that sometimes the game is serious but then you'll get dialog options that seem really jokey. Like either super goody two shoes or ridiculously over the top jerk. I do my first playthrough of games like this playing myself and making choices that i'd actually make in real life and I pretty much never come across an option that close to what i'd choose in real life.

Plus bullet time on killing cock roaches is kinda silly imo. The first time I saw a vats kill it was awesome. 50 times later I wish I could hit a button to skip it.

But those are pretty minor complaints.

it seems like they are using the same graphics engine as oblivion. back when oblivion came out people said the graphics were some of the best...but that was 2 years ago now. i expect if you compared the 2 graphic wise fallout 3 would be better but marginally.

The atmosphere cannot be beat. You can definitely get lost in this world almost more so than Oblivion's, particularly when it starts to look familiar to you. I mean, you're walking through towns with street signs and traffic lights. Really well presented.

this game keeps gettin better, found out you can get team mates, found some crazy ass talking armor and met my all time favorite enemy, the deathclaw (there crazy looking and crazy hard, fast as ****).

I liked Oblivion, but in all honesty Fallout 3 absolutely blows the roof off of it. Fallout's quests have much more story depth and you feel like you have actually acomplished something when you complete them after some unexpected twists. With VATS, Fallout's battle system makes Oblivion's feel archaic in comparison. Exploration is a joy in Fallout and the items you find along the way are actually USEFUL whereas 99% of the items in Oblivion were complete junk. I stopped looking in drawers and barrels in Oblvion because I knew it was a waste of time. In Fallout you might miss a weapon or some ammo that will come in handy if you don't keep your eyes peeled. The voice acting in Fallout is much more varied and makes the game feel much more alive. Finally, the leveling system in Fallout leaves Oblivion completely in the dust. S.P.E.C.I.A.L + Skills + some really clever and well thought out Perks makes the leveling system a joy. i know this game is being overlooked by many people out there and I would have overlooked it too had I not enjoyed Oblivion and my brother not intrduced me to the Fallout series. Why Gamespot only gave this game a 9 is beyond me, but then again, I think Gamespot's reviews are some of the worst in the business. Anyways, my message to those out there who haven't given this game much thought...

GO GET FALLOUT 3 ASAP! This is game of the year material. I know many of you are busy still playing Fable 2, but when you are finished you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not give this game a look.

I haven't played Fable 2, but played Fable 1 and thought is was about above average. That's just me though, a lot of people love the series and if you liked the first one you will like the second one from what i hear. I'll probably be renting Fable 2 and Dead Space over the Holidays after I've played through Fallout as both good and evil characters and beaten the Gears 2 campain with a buddy. If you do decide to get Fable 2 instead of Fallout you should try to get Fallout later on. You shouldnt miss it.

Yes, the graphics are great, but they are not without their glitches. The scale of the game is simply amazing - the game encourages exploring, in my opinion. What I personally enjoy is the free-form nature of the story,it does not tell you where to start once you leave the vault. If you have not picked it up please get it.

I have the PS3 version, though, but the point still stands.

I haven't played it yet, but I'm hoping for it to be better than Oblivion. Since it's made by the same ppl, it should be similar, but hopefully bettermohfrontline

yeah, sumtimes everyone keeps screaming the same thing while sounding the exact same, but its easy to overlook

I definitely haven't been this engrossed in a game in a LONG time.

I loved the first two Fallouts and I think it was a fantastic idea to recreate the series in a modern way.

With the sheer amount of random things going on, this is a game you'll be sharing stories about with your friends for a long time to come.
