Fallout 3, one of my top 5 favorite games ever! I played it 3 times on the ps3 and now I'm re-playing it on the xbox. I enjoyed New Vegas but I didn't like the atmosphere of the game as much as i did Fallout 3. While Vegas had new perks and tweaked gameplay, I would still rather play Fallout 3 any day!
I dont think fallout new vegas had a very engaging story. I felt more involved in 3 and i felt an attachment because there was a love story in there as well.
I dig you! but ultimately 'Fawkes' is the dividing factor for me. I can complete Fallout 3's main quest in about 18 hours, then i have Fawkes as my personal bodyguard to roam the wasteland for the next 100 hours. Fallout New Vegas lacked that special character. Still, these are the 2 best games i've ever played.I cant really differentiate which one i love more - both are very dear games to me.

Fallout 3 music > Fallout New Vegas music and that in a wasteland is a world of differencedoubalfa
Have to disagree . Fallout 3 is better than NV in every way bar the music. And thats mainly because it has Big Iron by Marty Robbins. And i love him, i shouldnt because i'm not a country fan and i'm 18 but i used to listen to it in my grand dad's car every Sunday and it reminds me of him. So yeah. :D They both have great soundtracks though.
im gonna add a both optionI cant really differentiate which one i love more - both are very dear games to me.

sorry but Anything goes made my day when I heard it play in Fallout 3!I voted for Fallout 3. It would have been New Vegas if Obsidian actually patched it correctly. KC_Hokiethere has been a recent patch...well a 2011 patch
This is kind of a hard one for me. I liked Fallout 3 for being a "god", whereas I liked New Vegas for the role playing elements (such as speech and passive abilities playing much more of a role).

New Vegas is a monumentally better game than 3. Fallout 3 lacked a lot of the significant feel that the Fallout universe has.
New Vegas is better in every way and not an insult to the series. So, New Vegas. Especially the PC version where you can easily avoid almost all of the bugs the game shipped with, most that have been patched by now.
Fallout 3 is my fav since its easier and has less bugs.
Easier? Neither game could be much easier.

I die alot in new vegas but i can play an entire game of fallout 3 without dieingIn my honest opinion New Vegas is better in every single way except radio stations (music).
Fallout3 I would give 5/10
Fallout New Vegas I would give 9.5/10
New Vegas has better story, better characters, better questing, better dialogue and better rpg elements.
Fallout New Vegas has a better story and gameplay but is buggy as hell. I have to say Fallout 3 is currently the better overall game.In my honest opinion New Vegas is better in every single way except radio stations (music).

Fallout 3 was just as buggy as New Vegas on release date. I am just saying.
I had to pick Fallout 3, but mostly because I haven't played Fallout New Vegas as when I bought it at release I couldn't get it to play for more than 5 minutes without crashing. Of course I took it back and swore I'd never buy another Obsidian game again. Fast forward to about a week ago, I picked up the Collectors Edition for $29.99 thinking i'll give it and Obisidian one more chance.
The question I have is of course, have they patched the game enough to be more stable and playable. I think I'd read they did but I visited the forums and didn't see much about it.

That doesnt make sense....fallout 3 is awesomeam I the only one who found the city of NEw Vegas too small and uninteresting, to be honest I expected a big city that had some life very different from the wasteland, like a haven of modern life in te middel of nevadadoubalfa
I thought it was a pretty decent size. Note that New Vegas is not only the Strip, but Westside, Freeside and all other buildings/locations around it - Aerotec building, Sharecroper Farms, Usunagi's Medical Building, Crimson Caravan, Gun Runners, The Thorn and all the rest...
Building-wise, Fallout 3 was way better with bigger locations, better looting and more unique stories behind each building..

yeah I guess you're right but it annoyed me to no end that even the strip was split in 3 different locations and loading screens in between, I guess Fallout 3 disguised it a little better for muy taste wit the subway stations.I voted Fallout New Vegas. It had better characters, story, some good gameplay tweaks, more content. The only negative is that there were some very annoying glitches but I was able to overlook them. I hope to see the next Fallout game made by Obsidian using the Skyrim engine. Hopefully Bethesda will then either make a new IP or stick with the Elder Scrolls games so we don't have to wait five years for The Elder Scrolls VI.

At least Fallout 3 had several patches which fixed the issues. Fallout New Vegas is still buggy as hell and hasn't had a patch in four months.Fallout: New Vegas easily. It had a
The only thing Fallout 3 did better was exploration.
