Fallout: New Vegas, way more everything.

I agree. More weapons, more locations, addition of iron sights to aim, new perks, darker story, more dark humor than fallout 3, better setting, better dialogue, better characters. Fallout 3 is amazing but I have to say Obsidian nailed the Fallout vibe better than Bethesda which is expected as the original Fallout creators worked on this game. Both games are very unique.

Most of the locations have no history or back story to them and a majority of them are empty little shacks or camps that just clutter the whole map space so I can hardly find anything. Fallout new vegas is smaller as well with much more open spaces. More dark humor? Wrong again, Andale, the point lookout hallucinations, several humorous things raiders do like writing **** you written in blood, enslaving bryan wilks and bumble, hell even the songs on the radio have dark humor if you pay attention, such as butcher pete, I don't want to set the word on fire and Civilization. Those are examples of dark humor. Either you haven't played each or you don't know how the term dark humor is used Darker and better story? Fallout 3 is set in a nuked to hell wasteland with raiders left and right and most places you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a mutilated body on a meathook, half the people in the game are scared **** less that walking frankensteins are going to abduct them or slavers are coming to get them all the while a corrupt government is trying to poison peoples water and kill off most of the population. Fallout 3 is a post apocalyptic anarchic hell with peoples struggling to find food and water while being hunted down by some kind of hostile group anywhere they turn. Fallout new vegas is a sunny, non nuked story with little conflict other than people with different ideologies having a who's dick is bigger contest. If I wanted that I'd out the door and read some world news for a bit. These are the only two on your list that are COMPLETELY subjective, as in open completely to interpretation.I'll find out which one is better when the GOTY comes out. Fallout is a series where half the game experience comes out in DLC. No way I'm buying all of it separately.
For me it's got 2 be Fallout New Vegas. Simply because the game is more realistic when playing in hardcore mode, plus the graphics slightly better than Fallout 3's. Oh and it's far more challenging. Having said that New Vegas is bugged 2 hell. One frustating bug is when u die & load in the last save, your character will attack continuosly WITHOUT u touching the controller.
New Vegas is the better role playing game.
Fallout 3 has better locations and quests, better exploring and better land to explore...
Both games are amazing.
I agree with thisI definetly enjoyed Fallout 3 more, I just had a better atmosphere, it was more apocalyptic. New Vegas just didn't feel right, I liked having a back story to my character, and feeling like nowhere was truly safe. New Vegas feels like a post apocalyptic society that kind of rebuilt itself already, and that wasn't the fallout I loved.
FO3 GOTY, cos i managed to finish the game, and Fawkes. I could'nt finish F NV cos of corrupt saves & right at the end too, so,....Fallout 3 for me. Both are good games though, gaming nirvana.
While I like both, I think Fallout 3 is the superior game. Fallout 3's world felt more full, more interesting side stories, and had more places of interest. New Vegas lacked personality, and didn't have that hard to explain "it" factor. New Vegas is superior in terms of gameplay, such as weapons mods, survivalism, and hardcore mode. If those were incorporated into Fallout 3's world we would have the perfect Fallout game.
Just my two cents.
