While I was playing Fallout 3, I came to the conclusion that games made by Bethesda will always be hyped like crazy. Bethesda as a developer does have a very good track record with games but I don't feel that they are as good or as ground-breaking as many people claim. Fallout 3 in my opinion was just one big open sandbox without much direction. I feel that if they don't change how the game plays it will basically be Fallout 3 with a new setting. Any thoughts on this?

Is that a branch of Obsidian Entertainment ? anyways I want it to be different than FO3, they can keep the engine, but gameplay needs to be refined IMO.
Clearly not everyone is gonna like a game, especially one like Fallout 3 or Oblivion. If you don't like it, it doesn't instantly mean it's overrated, that's a bit of a self-centered outlook.
To be fair I never said that I didn't like the game. It's a good game but its not as good as people say. Besides thats my opinion so its not self centered at all. I don't feel that I said anything that would even lead to being self centered, all I did was voice my opinion and ask for comments. Nothing self centered about that. As for the topic, I didn't know that Bethesda was not leading the project. I thought it was, are they just the publisher for the project? I know that will that lawsuit with Interplay that Bethesda owns it. Am I correct?
It's from Obsidian. They do a good job of capturing the gameplay of the original developers, so I have confidence that New Vegas will play, feel, and progress like Fallout 3 with a few more features of their own.
Well it is being developed by Obsidian. So a lot of the old members of Interplay will be working on the game. I expect to be good possibly better than FallOut 3.
Bethesda isn't developing it so it should be good. If Bethesda was developing it I wouldn't buy it.

Feeling the same is very different to what Bethesda does to sequels. They took so much stuff out of Oblivion that I was shocked it scored so high. I never played the original Fallout games so I can only imagine what they did to that series.. I don't trust Bethsda's games and I never will again.

Same here, Fallout 3 felt like a huge mod for Oblivion IMO, the GOTY praising and "original" concepts for Bethesda I felt were undeserving. I'm glad Obsidian, a company that is most familiar with Fallout universe is at the helms this time around.

Just because it is using the same engine doesn't mean it will have the same gameplay. Like I said earlier New Vegas is being developed by a lot of members who worked on FallOut 1 &2. I really do not expect an exactFallOut 3 clone to much

What? I am only renting it because Bethesda isn't making it. They messed up Oblivion by removing a lot of stuff for no reason. Reviewers never even mentioned it which I thought was ridiculous. Two reasons why I wont trust a game that Bethesda develops..

its a little hard to discuss something we know nothing about, like i said, there has only been one trailer. Sure we know the backstory, but thats about it...
Well it is more of less talking about what we think Bethesda and Obsidian will do with the game. Throw out ideas about what you think a new version of Fallout should be.
They really need to do something about the whole weight system. Whats the point of being a looter if you can't carry anything? Reminds me of EQ *shudders*. They need to redo the whole combat system. It simply isn't any fun and VATS gets so boring and just kills the flow. The skill system needs to be redone also to make it feel that it actually affects something. I got 100 in nearly everything but everything feels the same. Fallout 3 was epic in scale but had some serious flaws.
This might be a similar situation to what Obsidian did with KOTOR 2 for Bioware. Then again the folks at Obsidian who worked on Fallout 1 and 2 may make some things about New Vegas more similar to those games. I don't know what that would mean, I haven't played the first two games.
It should be better then Fallout3 imo. Obsidian did a great job with KOTOR2 and especially Neverwinter Nights2 which was amazing.
Also some of the old dudes from Fallout1 and 2 are helping to work on this.. and IMO Fallout1 and 2 are better then Fallout3 in every way except graphics.
Hard to say since the game isn't out yet, personally I was a huge fan of FO3, sure the story,characters and bugs hurt the game, but overall it still was a excellent game imo.

Actually, no. I was being dead serious. And Fallout 1 and 2 are incredibly famous. Fallout 3 wouldn't be so popular if it weren't for Fallout and it's sequel. Also, you underestimate the popularity of Black Isle.
