In Red Dead Redemption, what's the easiest and fastest activity/job to gain fame? Thanks!

I'm not really sure. I just play the game and do the missions to get fame. I do alot of side missions, too.

Side missions..Was maxed out bye the end of the game..Keep saving people..You see a lady on the side of the road go an help..Every mission you do gains you fame also..The more you save people the more your fame goes up simple..

Fame is gained by killing people, doing jobs, completing challenges, finishing tasks, helping strangers, and winning duels and games. With Fame comes great rewards - people are more likely to ask you for help, the cost of bribes come down, and lawmen may begin to turn a blind eye to your transgressions.

Cheat at poker, get caught, win duel by disarming rinse and repeat if you are in a hurry to get max fame with no effort.

Alternatively saving random people from attacks, rank up in ambient challanges, stranger missions and catching bounties alive can give you fame.
