I think I screwed up.

I set up the profile I always play with on my x360 about a year ago, and now I wanna get xbox live gold so I can play with my friends. Anyways, I've been connected to silver for a few months, mainly to download trailers etc., and now I'd like to add some friends, but I keep getting this bullcrap messege that the parent needs to confirm the friend request and that I have to enter some password. First of all, I'm 18 and don't need any security family stuff. Second of all, my parents don't care what I play and who I play with. Is there a way to get rid of this? I can create other accounts too, but I have the same problem there too.

Regards,

Chris

You cannot change the age associated with your profile when it was created.  I was only a few months from my 18th birthday when I got my 360 and now I'm almost 19, but I'm still a kid in Microsoft's eyes, apparently.  You aren't automatically upgraded out of requiring parental permission when you turn 18 and you can't change it on the console or by calling MS support.  Basically, minors who bought a 360 are screwed.  I may continue to be considered under 18 even after the next xbox comes out...

hmm...weird thing is...I created a new account, and signed up for a new live profile with a windows ID and I didn't need any crappy parental permission...the only account that need parental permission, is unfortunately, the one with all my gamer points etc....can I just transfer that stuff onto another account?

No, you can not transfer it. I would try calling MS support, but The_Fell_One said they will not change it for you. No clue why, but its worth a shot if nothing else works.

You need to renew the password for your windows ID ---- I think it resets every 72 days.

Then you can access the family settings.
