Depends, do you like ODST? Do you want to get into the Reach beta? no, the campaign to odst sucks! and I really don't care much for reach.GO FOR IT. there is nothing to do in ODST... i love halo but i can care less about any beta's i don't like playing games where i can't play the whole thing that's why i hate betas.
P.S just bought far cry off ebay for 8 bucks 2 bucks for shipping like new was shipped out on saterday... any game that resives a 8.5 is worth my 10 bucks
There is alot of traveling over huge distances but with a proper day night cycle and the fact you can do your missions whenever you like through those cycles gives an amazing atmosphere. Its well worth picking up cheap.
I don't have LIVE so the beta is useless to me. that's why i'm looking for a good single player game. (far cry 2)
why don't you have LIVE? yout typeing on here so you have internet.. unless you hate friends house or something on that lineI don't have LIVE so the beta is useless to me. that's why i'm looking for a good single player game. (far cry 2)

I can pretty much enjoy any game, but I just coulsdn't with Far Cry 2. It's incredibly boring, the only thing that was good was the graphics.

I don't have a router. I run my wireless off my neighbors internet. and I don't wanna spend 100 bucks to get a receiver
its okay, the graphics are very detailed, but the campaign is VERY repetative, as in more repetative than assassins creed
he is right about the fire..abnd the cool thing about it is that if it is raining then the fire wont spread as quickly as it it is dryIts really fun for like the first 4-5 hours but after that I got pretty sick of running across the map for EVERY mission. The fire in the game looks amazing and behaves fairly realistically (for the most part)

****ing terrible game unless you like driving around in a dimly lit Jungle and enjoy repetitive games.. Easily the worst game on the Xbox 360 that I have ever played.

Ever Played Vampire Rain? A stealthy game where you get to watch Vampires kill you.
Nope I tend to only play good games besides this pile of rubbish. I knew I shouldn't have bought it but for $10 how could I go wrong? Oh I could go wrong, very wrong..Rent it first !
Personally I just got fed up with having to travel to the other side of the God damn map just to blow up another convoy..
The re-spawning road blocks are just another pain in the butt.. And the whole buddy thing was just silly !
After 20 hours, I just lost interest..
They should of stuck with the whole Feral theme.. it's what made the franchise quite unique.

Far Cry 2 is horribly designed. I think the developers tried to make the most boring and tedious game ever. And guess what? They succeeded!
Keep ODST. Far Cry 2 is bad.
I got FC2 day 1 and I'mplaying through FC2 for the 4th time atm. I really love the huge, gorgeous open world, the shooting are fantastic since you have freedom to approach each mission. And I love the fact that te enemy AI are random which make encounters with them are different.
FC2 is a great game and is my favorite FPS this gen. I'll prefer it over any Halo game any day.
FarCry 2 single player is ok, but don't expect much out of multiplayer because they killed it. Yeah they got a good map maker, but the rest of it is garbage compared to Farcry Instincts/Evolution or Predator if you were on the 360 back then.
Goddamn frustrating FPS could really have done with some kind of GPS like that in GTA IV and Red Faction Guerrilla. But it doesn't have one, and you'll find yourself taking what seems like a nifty shortcut only to come up against a small mountain or some other geological formation which is impassable other than driving ALL THE FRAKKIN WAY round it. Travelling great distances over and over again gets old, respawning checkpoint goons are unamusing from the outset, and the safehouses (where you must drive to if you want to save progress) are not exactly conveniently placed. Game is screaming out for a helicopter or some other aerial transport -a chopper or small biplane would have made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Bad Company and GTA IV had choppers, but you can forget any such convenience in Far Cry 2, which all the same was hyped as one of the games of the year back in 2008. If you're easily pissed off by a videogame, don't apply.
But it won me over. It's got some of the nicest visuals you'll see this gen, the combat is really meaty and the guns and explosives great to play around with, and the buddy system is great at times.
DON'T GET IT.
I once asked if I should pick this game up for $20...everybody said no, I bought it anyway and I ended up returning it the next day...actually I practically stayed up all night anticipating the store opening so I could return it...thats how bad it is !
i personally loved the game, but its not perfect and its def not for everyone
the single player can be tedious, but a lot of shooters get that way, but the game still does a good job of sucking u into the wilds of africa, somehow
all i can say is, the critics like the game too, i mean, an 85 metascore on metacritic, based on 75 reviews...thats a good game right there
If you're planning on playing the Reach Beta then don't do it. Far Cry 2 is a good game but it will getfrustrating and repetitiveafter a while. Although the campaign is alot longer than ODST, after you play it once you'll be done with it.On the other hand, the multiplayer on Far Cry 2 is great. My opinion: You should definately get Far Cry 2 because it's cheap and worth playing. Whether you keep ODST or not depends onhow many times you can stand playing it.
you haven't played many games then. like, seriously. relax. it's not that serious.****ing terrible game unless you like driving around in a dimly lit Jungle and enjoy repetitive games.. Easily the worst game on the Xbox 360 that I have ever played.

I never said Far Cry 2 caused me to lose my home and beat me half to death or anything.****ing terrible game unless you like driving around in a dimly lit Jungle and enjoy repetitive games.. um yes, Far Cry 2 is a very solid game, but look somewhere else for a multiplayer focus.
and the aiming isnt anywhere as smooth as call of duty... or any other game for that matter. if that would bother you, keep it in mind.
i love it.

No thank you I would rather not.It really depends on what type of gamer you are. I think it takes a certain sort to appreciate a game like Far Cry 2. Its flawed, particularly with the already mentioned 'repetitive' nature of the game, and its hit detection is really freakin akward sometimes, but its *such* an immersive experience if you play it like one. You've kind of gotta take your time with it. If you dont have the patience to do that, then you're probably not going to enjoy it much.
I turned off the music, traveled by foot or by boat most of the time and switched up how I did different missions. I had a blast. There's lots of different guns, and they all feel and sound good to shoot. Buying the camo suit and doing missions stealth-style at night with the dart gun and silenced pistol was awesome. Exploring around for gems felt surprisingly satisfying. And the map editor was really fun to play around with, even if your created maps didn't get much use. Its just such a beautiful world and I'm incredibly impressed with this game engine. Some fine-tuning and this game could have been something seriously special.
It looks good, gameplay is ok (except the whole "realism" gets a bit annoying sometimes...) and the multiplayer is mediocre. The biggest gripe I have with it is is that you spend 3/4's of the game travelling from one end of the level to the next to do the missions. It has the best level maker I've ever seen though.
