Ok guys,

im starting this thread cuz im kinda irritated in the recent rpgs and what not we have been seeing lately, and especially on the 360. Im the kinda guy that fell in love with all those emotional final fantasy stories like #7 9 and 10.

Im wondering what is happening to the rpgs that we are seeing on recent consoles. I am not getting the same kind of feeling from them as i used to with older rpgs. I know lost oddysey just came out and im going to purchase that very soon no doubt.

Anyways the real point of this topic was to enlighten you on an idea i had, which im sure most of you have had before. Why arent there any MMORPGS on XBOX live. Maybe to get the same kind of feeling that i got playing diablo 2 or guild wars. Wouldnt that be sick, being able to play an online rpg with many of your friends. Doing quests and leveling up, or having sick PVP battles like on guild wars and WoW? and better yet on an affordable console? not like the PC's. About a year and a half ago i spent 3 grand on a pc and now its completely outdated. I have just recently baught a skyline gtr32 and i will no longer be able to upgrade my pc every 2 days in order to keep it dated.

Anyways, im curious to hear your opinions...

I was playing World of Warcraft for about 2 years on and off. I stopped playing console games whatsoever. A great MMORPGs are just so hard to create. There's a lot of risk taking involved to start one, develop it, and push through with the final product. If you're lucky. Marvel Online was cancelled recently. It didnt even finish half way through it's development. Maybe people are not so crazy about MMORPGs. Everquest 1,2, World of Warcraft & WOW: Burning Crusades, LOTR: Online, Guild Wars, Final Fantasy XI and all it's expansions, pretty much burned people out. Hellgate London failed miserably. I for one, am pretty tired of MMORPGs. But what I dont mind, is some JRPGs like Final Fantasy. The JRPG industry is starting to drift away. I think the only game that can bring it back is Final Fantasy XIII and versus.

that isnt a reason mmorpgs are going away. that is just you not knowing much. more than just huxley are planned, they are just taking a long development because of the way more complicated systems than normal games.

Ill agree with you on the Jrpg drifting away, but ffxiii does not appeal to me whatsoever.with the real creator of ff departed, ffxiii just looks lieka rip off to me. It doesnt seem to keep the same elements as the older ones.

that would be cool, but i would think that u would have to pay even more money for live+ mmo fee. most mmos cost money to play for maintence, gms, servics. u might need to buy a keyboard for chatting with friends.

i would like to see a mmo like game to play with friends.

Although i know Wow doesnt require a strong PC to play, iv come to the conclusion that PC gaming is just 2 damn expensive to keep up with. I think a MMORPG on xbox live wouldnt be immensely successfull if done right

I havent looked into it but are the servers for FF cross platform or can only PC people play with PCs and X Box wiith X Box. or can everyone play together?

Cross platform getting everyone involved from PS3 360 and Computers in one game would be the start to the next MMO when WoW starts to become dated.

MMO's on 360/PS3 are a risky venture. Most of the ones that came out already (FFXI and PS0) suck major balls. Also, how the hell did you spend 3 grand on a computer 1.5 years and it's outdated already? I spent 1500 on mine in the summer of 2005 and I can still play most games at medium - high settings. Yea, I can't play Crysis worth **** but come on...all I need to do do get my computer to Crysis levels is buy a new video card, add a stick of RAM, and upgrade my processor. Should run me about 500 - 700 dollars. What the hell did you buy for 3 grand???

NCSoft is going to announce its first PS3 MMO soon, be interesting to see if its an established franchise as that may lead to more franchises moving to consoles are well.
