Im a fan of RPGs and recently got an xbox. I was wondering what some of the better 360 RPGs are. Im thinking of getting eternal sonata but some people say the story lacks depth.
id say oblivion, maybe fallout 3, mass effect, fable 2if your into JRPGs theres lost oddysey, . star ocean just came out, like you mentioned eternal sonata, theres also tales of vesperia, and if you want to download some xbox originals, there jade empire
Eternal Sonata is good, but Tales of Vesperia plays very similar IMO and is a much better game. That being said, Star Ocean is currently what I'm on... very very addicting game. Oblivion, Mass Effect, and Fallout 3 are all A's though.
Eternal Sonata is an excellent game, but Tales of Vesperia is not only the best RPG on the 360 but also the the best game on the 360 in my opinion. Either one is an excellent choice. Fallout 3 is also one to consider.
You can't go wrong with Oblivion, Fallout 3, or Mass Effect. Excellent RPGs. i haven't tried any of the JRPGs yet, but those 3 are excellent titles that will take up a whole lot of your time.
I thought Eternal Sonata was great. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a definite for any RPG loving 360 owner... go get it, my friend! Other notable mentions are definantly Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, and of course the recent release of Star Ocean 4 Out of the ones listed above, I'd definantly go with Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia... both are amazing
fable 2 lacks alot of rpg elements, its too easy and it was really short. Oblivion, i liked it but i think it needed more choses, seems like u didnt have to chose much, so u could just do everything the first time through. although i did make more than one charactor. oblivion is my favorite, then mass effect then overlord/fable 2 if those can be considered rpg,

The best 360 RPG's are... WRPG's: Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and (to a lesser extent) Fable 2 JRPG's: Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, and apparently Star Ocean is pretty decent, though I haven't played it yet.

AH! I knew I was forgetting something. :P Star Ocean is one of my favorites (still playing but towards the end). Really only suited for Star Ocean and JRPG fans though.
I just finished Mass Effect. Wonderful game, the politics of the story line were pretty grasping. Right now that would have to be my favorite. Followed by Fall Out 3. I regret that I rented this game and beat in within the 5 day rental period. I wished I would have bought it and took my time playing it. It has endless possibilities and the character interaction is pretty in depth. Fable on XBOX was the game that got me into RPGs. I was soooo excited for the release of Fable 2. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. Don't take me wrong, it was a great game. But it was very linear in game play with not many open ended game play options (ex, Fall Out 3, exploration and character interactions are endless!) Oblivion is an all time favorite of many. But closing Oblivion Gates gets pretty boring and repetitive. The graphics and gameplay overall are getting pretty dated. But it is absolutely worth playing. Eternal Sonata is very visually stunning and the combat operating system is a bit unique. Its story line is great to follow too. But its limited in game play, there's not much else to do except follow the main story quest. I'm waiting for an RPG that will combine the game play of Fall Out 3 and Oblivion (unlimited possibilities and huge world exploration) with the story and characters of Fable 2 (character interactions, etc).
I've tried Eternal Sonata and Infinite Undiscovery but couldn't get into them. The first one's cut scenes were just too morbid for me and it tried being too deep and profound with it'smessage which just got annoying for me. But if you can get past that, the combat and other parts of the storywere pretty decent. I would probably kept playing it had they left out the whole Chopan(sp?) on his deathbead thing.
I got my 360 mainly for all the RPGs I thought it had but now I'm playing mostly shooters but I still really like my 360. Oblivion just felt too empty to me, I just felt like it needed to be an MMORPG and I beat both Fallout 3 and Mass Effect on my PC. Andfor the most part,all the JRPGs are said to have bad voice acting/stories.
Tales of Vesperia. It has an incredible storyline, an excellent cast of characters and an addictive combat ayatem.

Also some of the best voices for a jrpg. Normally you get a few pretty annoying voices but i thought they were all excellent main character wise that is.
