What is your guy's favorite single-player mission in any video game?
Halo: Combat Evolved, The Maw. I loved that level and the game, It was just great driving that Hog to victory-and the part before that was really good too.

Was Fort Frolic the level with Sander Cohen? If it was, I loved that level - everything about it. the best part was destroying splicers while listening to classical music from the nutcracker i believe
Easy one, The Bridge - Halo 2, or maybe the level before Cortana in Halo 3 (cant remember the name) where it goes from a beach and u have to knock down those sheild generators, and then kill TWO crawly thingys (dang im really off my game tonight i cant remeber the name of those either) and then make its past all of those flood/covenent but in the end the cut-scene of Truth's death is worth it.call4backupThe covenant is the level and the crawly things are scarabs.
the one mission i really found good was in the very first multiplayer game ever released back in 1997 for the nintendo 64 was the bunker 2 level even though it can be frustrating
i just find that level of goldeneye the most fun also stealth leaving natalya in her cell helped me alot , and was one of the longest missions i beleive that game had with out a doubt in fact i dont remember a game aside from the first perfect dark with such missions like this
or timesplitters.. but ya goldeneye all in all had the best missions ever created i dont care what ppl said and what makes this harder is the fact that every mission in perfect dark or goldeneye had cheats to unlock and those can be a pain especially in the bunker 2 or control center levels
halos levels were all to easyname any halo made and they still are just run and gun games well sorta theres barlyno way to fail a mission the only way is to die,,, how simple goldeneyeor any 007 game how ever you do somthingwrong like raise an alarm it can be disasterous ,.. and if you really wanna know what the hardest game ive ever played it is goldeneye/perfect dark 1i always wasstuck somewhere one way or another ,, i beat goldeneye but not perfect dark just yet i find this game harder
Heheh I would say the part in HL2:Ob where I have to defend the rocket and the part where I have to defend Alex from the ant lions while shes been revived.
And in R6V, the parts where my chinese teamate is hacking the system...basically all the defend missions in R6V. :D
I also liked the level on CoD4 where you got to play gunner in the airplane providing protection for guys on the ground. I dont remember the name of it, but i played it like 30 timesRevolver8Death from above i belive. In the AC 130 gunship that was fun.
Id say its a tie between Halo: Combat Evolved - The Maw (legendary) because you are in the big rush to get to the ship you have to travel liek 5 kms to get to foehammer then travel 2 kms more to get to the last ship. and you only have 3 minutes to get there. The first time me and my friend did that we finished the game with about 5 seconds left to go. And the ending chapter of Half Life 2: Episode 2 where you have to protect the rocket from the stridders and hunters. When it gets down to the last wire where you are trying to blow up the stridders and keep the hunters from blowing up those bombs. Truly awsome gameplay. Also keeping all those buildings standing is probably the hardest achievement ever concieved
The absolute most mind-numbingly great missions I've ever played are:
Operation Overlord - Medal of Honor: Allied Assault: Holy crap. Just storming the beach of Normandy was, at the time, the most incredible moment in gaming for me! The bullets bouncing all around, the hordes of soldiers screaming and running for the cliffs! Amazing! It was the first time outside of Half-Life where I truly felt that I was actually there!
The last few parts of Half-Life 2: The parts where Gordon and Alyx came back into City 17 and joined the fight was just amazing! To see the destruction all around, to command the AI characters. It felt like I was in the midst of a real battle with the huge alien crafts attacking from all directions, the squawk of the aliens radios as they were shot and killed, the explosions, the vast vistas of the city. Amazing! Stunning really!
The opening missions of Bioshock: Just because it was so mind-numbingly beautiful and frightening and because the world felt so fully realized!
Finally gaining access to Alderney in GTA IV: Sure the missions could be frustrating, especially the ones were you had to drive to a destination and when you died you would have to start the drive all over, but the absolute depth of creation in GTA IV is astounding. Look around you - the city is so huge, so real. Not a single block is the same! I was stunned by how real and alive a city they had created.
Deus Ex: The game was just so well done, so beautifully rendered. It felt alive and was so deep. It took hours and hours and hours to play and I still felt that the world had so much more to show me.
There are so many other unbelievable games too. Too many. But, I have to say that the scene with the Berserker in Gears of War is so intense that I nearly died! I just remember playing Gears of War first thing when I got my 360 a year or two ago and I couldn't get over how my heart was pounding when I was running away from that thing. And, of course, Half Life. The first time I played Half Life was absolutely stunning.
One of them is definitely 'All Ghillied Up'. I've never played any mission in a game like it. It's so well thought out, and the long pauses that build tension before making a pulse-pounding dash to avoid being seen are superb.
Thief 3: The Cradle
The scariest piece of gaming I've ever experienced. The rest of the game was slightly better than average, but this level was unreal.
i'm kinda surprised at how many people like All ghillie'd up and One Shot one Kill. those were my least fav CoD missions (then again i dislike anything sniper related, unless it's the sniper shot in Golgo 13)
one of my favorite levels would have to be the Tanker level og MSG 2. even with that small 2-3 hour game time there are so many little secrets and extra's to be found. plus it was just unparraled at the time in just about every respect.
and not sure if thsi counts but the final...oh....1-2 hours of MGS 3 were really good. the motorcycle ride/fight/escape is a must play and i really enjoyed the final boss battle in the field of white flowers.
not sure if this counts either but the collossus you fight that flies around in the desert enviroment in SotC. you know, the one where you have to shoot it's airbag thingy's with your bow before mounting it.
good times.
...
Three-Leaf Clover in Grand Theft Auto 4. "I'm a gun club member. I'm gonna take these rookies down."
Also too many things to list in the Metal Gear Solid series.
Meadl of Honor Frontline, the first level on The Beaches of Normandy, playing that on hard with Nazis shooting at you while your running up the beach and your soldiers are dropping left and right is just awesome, my favorite level in a videogame. Apocalypse324
that is one of my favorite games haha. Good times on the PS2. I also liked beating RAAM on insane.
I don't think its possible to simply name one so:
But if i had to chose 1 it would probably be the Ghilles in the mist level.
