Whats your favorite sword and or dagger in Oblivion?

Mine would have to be the Shadowrend or the Glass Sword.
but does anyone know where to find the best swords in the game? The Chillrend, Goldbrand and Umbra?

I haven't finished the game yet but i like that two-handed longsword and the katana.

The Umbra Sword (best in game) is awarded from one of the Daedric Shrines things, you need to be level 20 for it though.

I use the Honourblade, attack power thingy of 14 and one handed. I like it. Also weightless due to being a quest item.

The one you get in The Shivering Isles is awesome, Dawnfang or Duskgang depending on time of day, recharges its magic power when it changes and the more you use it the more powerful it is when it changes next... great weapon.

I believe the TC already mentiond this sword, the one you recieve from the dark brotherhood after the third mission, Shadowrend.

I like the Goldbrand, or the Dusk/Dawnfang. I would use Umbra, but I gave it to Clavicus Vile. :P

Wait, getting the umbra is a quest? Because I was exploring dungeons, I found Umbra, killed her and took her sword and armor. Where do you start the quest?

hands down, the two hander shadowrend from shivering isles at level 30+ if not then Goldbrand combined with spellbreaker will make you a tough nut

Mehrunes Razor from the expansion pack.

Daedric Banishing is so awesome :) But it eats up charges so fast.

I would have to say the goldbrand, because its the only sword that still feels useful beyond level 45.

either the sword you get from the knights of the nine, or the special sword from shivering isles, the one that changes from night to day and levels it self

My own custom named sword, Oblivion's Sorrow. It's just an enchanted Daedric longsword to match my complete set of Daedric armor.

You don't have to do the daedric quest to get umbra, i just went into a cave while exploring and i killed someone named umbra and took thier sword.

The downside to Umbra being that repairing it costs a fortune, so you'd better be a good armorer. I liked the day/night cycle sword from the Shivering Isles, it's powerful, and has a unique design.

I dont have any of the expansions but my fav would be Goldbrand, Daedric claymore and the ebony claymore

The sword you get in the kidnapped ship quest, the last pirate had it, it doesnt do a lot of damage like Umbra, Chillrend or Goldbrand, but the effect of the sword is really cool, it damages a lot of fatigue, after 3 or 4 hits with it the enemy falls to the ground.

One of my custom made swords. It's an Elven sword that's an instant kill due to having drain health 100 points on strike enchantment and it has plenty of uses so I don't have to charge it often.

BS no you dont, i got umbra at lvl 1, go shoot her with an arrow, drop everything you have and run to the lake and swim to the capitol, she swims slower than you do, then run into the capital and the gaurds will see her as a threat and attack her. then just stand back and watch, she will go through about 10-15 guards then she will die. loot and you have all her armor and the umbra sword. goldbrand is better though for all around damage, and the stuff from shivering isle owns even that.

HAHA sounds like you owned her, did you loot the guards too? and i think that when who ever said you had to be level 20, he means that once level 20 hen umbra is at its strongest, because all of the equpment is leveled oblivion. and once you are level 20 umbra is at its max level
