FEAR is that kind of games that only appeal to hardcore FPS gamers. If you are a regular gamer that looks for fun, then FEAR will not appeal to you. I hated FEAR. It was buggy, boring, and story was weak.
I haven't played F.E.A.R. 2 yet, but I hated the demo. I loved F.E.A.R. though.

Don't judge Fear 2 by the demo, its a custom made level showing pretty much all of the games locations in one small chunk so it doesnt really flow very well, or explain very much. Give the full version a go, even if you just rent it.
Fear 2 just felt wrong....i dunno how else to explain it.

This. Fear 2 doesn't even come remotely close to being as good as the original. If you took everything good about FEAR out and then added Mechs (lost any possible tension/scares), outside environments (further reduced any tension/scares), and a couple more enemies (apparentlymore enemiesthat glow for no apparent reason and arecompletely incompetentare better to havethan alimited variety ofenemies with perhaps the best AI I've ever seen), you'd have FEAR 2. Even the graphics (e.g., particle effects), were worse in the sequel.
I have to say F.E.A.R.2 simply because it wasn't as bland as the first one. I mean I hated going through one office building after the other, soo repetitive and boring, and the second one had plenty of different envoirments and plenty of color compared to the simple different shades of gray, black, white, blue and the red from the blood in the first one. I also thought F.E.A.R.2 story was better than the first.
