After playing the demo, I knew my time for waiting for the game payed off. However, it wasn't the gameplay or the camera that game me problems, it was the lack of weapons. Not only from the demo, but from all the preview articles and movies did I notice Tequila using the same pistols, submachine guns, shotgun, and assault rifle. Basicaly thats 4 guns. That's not including the golden pistols.

Does anyone know if there will be more in the game, or is that all you get? Any other complaints/praises you have for Stranglehold, discuss them here

I imagine there will be more than what was seen in the demo and various videos. If not well I guess killing guys with the same two pistols isnt so bad.

Personally Im more concerned with the linear level design and the lack in variety of missions. Im curious to see how much variety there is between levels and whether or not its enough to justify spending $60 on the game.

If Stranglehold would have came out in July it would have sold like hell, as it is, its going to be a rental game tbh. Sooo many good games coming out.

My problem was that the graphics looked last-gen and the gameplay was repetitive button mashing. Although I like the setting and I really like that special aiming thing where you get to see the guy get shot in slow-mo... always hilarious to watch a guy take a shot in the crotch using that feature.

Don't forget the rocket launcher! There will be plenty of weapons when this game comes out for us to enjoy.

Idk. I'd prefer this game to be linear. It's designed to play like a movie. This game will certainly be a great time waster, all be it a short one (only 7 levels), when it is released.

My main concern is the length. The demo claims there will be seven levels, which doesn't sound too promising. Maybe they'll divide each of the levels into chapters, but I'm worried the single player game is only going to be five hours long or so.

I dug the weapons for the most part. This seems to be one of those rare games where the emphasis is not on what you're using, but how you use it.

The demo was only one small part of the entire level. You're probably looking at 8-12 hours of play.

And hopefully the multiplayer isn't too bad, and adds a few more hours of play.

to be honest? neither, and here is why:

FEAR: the 360 version does looks better , but thats it , the game itself is way over repetetive and getting boring pretty quick , not enough ppl online.

Stranglehold:

interactive , cool game , but.... graphics are decent+,the game will be very short(6 levels , thats no more than 2-4 hours) , way over repetetive , there are no more than5 weapons (shotguns ,rifle , sniper , barretas ,RPG).

If the multiplayer is done right this could be a purchase for me. The video from the demo showing off the multiplayer looked like hella fun!!

I haeard the game from another guy on stranglehold board its a sequal to Hard Boild. So I'm assuming tequila(not played by Chow Yun Fat.) Was in the movie. IMDB has a guy that played as Tequila's assistant.

If you watch the video at the end of the demo, you see that the game isnt so linear, and you see different types of weapons.

Granted the weapon selection is lame. But, it's keeping true to realistic formats. After playing the demo, I had to wipe the sweat from my hands. Boy I can't wait to get my hands on this game and Tequilla the world!!! Online gameplay also a key in this game!

the demo was cool for the first time. after that, even on the harder difficulties, i just breezed through it. there is nothing that resembles AI whatsoever in stranglehold. every single time, no matter what, each enemy will follow a set path, running the same way at the same exact time. heck, after two playthroughs, i wager i could have done the demo with my eyes closed, thats how boringly scripted the game is.

How about the part in the market square where after you finish off all dudes rushing in at you, you look up at the stairs and those dudes just stand there. You shoot at them and they still stand there. At that point you finally decide to put their inept asses out of their misery before ever reaching the stairway.

8-12 hours worth? out of 7 levels? So about an hour per? I dont know about that. If its actually that long then the game would certainly have my attention, but, if this Hard Boiled movie is any good I might have to give in and get this game on my PS3...

Hard Boiled is *easily* one of the best action movies ever made. I hope if anything this game gets a lot more people to watch and appreciate it.

Well three levels I know of so far are a Bar, a Marketplace and a Museum. That seems pretty diverse so a lack of variety probably won't be a problem.

If anything, stranglehold reminded me of Max Payne in a good way. But at the same time, I do agree... there are too few weapon types available. There should be something explosive at least (like the m79 grenade launcher Payne gets) to help provide some variety.

Yeah, I guess location wise there will be a nice variety, but, how different are these areas? Is it the same run from one point to the next, get to the end of the line killing everything in your way....?

I did see, in the video at the end of the demo, a mission where you were on a chopper flying around...but I just wonder if thats where the real variety stops?

True, now that I think about it. But there are many ways to look at the names. Just imagine if Tequila was names Jesus (pronounced hey zeus). Imagine the controversy. But at the same time, it does sound cool to have a name like Tequila.
