FIFA10 is a far better game in my opinion, the ball is played much more fluidly, as an Arsenal fan I like that! PES is still a really fun game but it lacks the realism, I found that it was far to easy to dribble along the wing and basically run past defenders. Two problems I had with FIFA10 were: for one once you master the game it becomes far too easy, with Arsenal I have not bought any players and I am undefeated on legendary mode, sort of gets boring winning 4nil all the time. The other problem is the online head to head play, 90% of the time when you hit a 2 goal lead your opponent will quit, and that just really sucks. I recall leading someone 7nil only to see them quit :( Anyways both games are really good but I give FIFA10 the thumbs up because it is more realistic and has the licensing for the club/player names and kits.
I know this might sound strange but in fifa do the players feel different from each other for eg messi, ronaldo, do they actually feel like they are the best players in the world.
They both have good and bad points so I tend to play both. Why not try the demos on XBL? Failing that I'd go with FIFA 10 simply as it has more to offer.

Yeah they do actually, and you will find that you will become significantly better at the game when you learn your players strengths and weaknesses. Ronaldo and Messia are containable now though if you defend well enough.
online its fantastic, incredibly realistic and exciting. the new manager mode is suberb, i dont think ill ever get bored of it. the sheer realism of the gameplay is amazing; mydadwalkedinto my bedroom the other day and told 'he didnt know united were playing'. it looks fantastic in HD too.buy it (:
get fifa10 its the best soccer game, pes10 is a good game but thei exagerated with the realism of the characters and forgot about the gameplay its buggy the players movement feels like robots!
Fifa ruled football games until pro evo came out... Pro evo ruled the later PS2.. now converted over to next gen and pro evo is horrible. I would definitely suggest getting Fifa.
if you have a Wii as well as a 360... I would get PES on the Wii... it's pretty awesome, the control scheme they have with the wii-mote is basically perfect. If your only console is the 360, even though I hate EA with a vengeance, I would have to say Fifa is probably the better bet.
