I like it ok, nice and clean looking. Just weird seeing the "Xbox360" logo on a FF game :P Can't wait to see the reviews.

I really dislike having game cases with female characters on the front. I get weird look from friends and family when they see them, as if females in gaming were all strippers.

Edit: Her hair looks sharper on the PS3 case. PS3 superior version confirmed?:P

I don't like the plain white background, so I hope they snazzy up the NA version.

This time I'm gonna wait for gamer reviews before I buy this, I was totally tricked with FF12, that game was horrible.

wow that sounds kind of sexist I would call people out on that. It reminds me of the FFX case just with nothing in the background. Which is the problem they should throw some nice scenery in the background or something because it looks bland with just a grey background.

I usually dont care much about box cover art, but this one is decidedly bland.

It has a near entire image of Lightning on the cover. There is no way it can be bad.

Some people might have higher expectations from such a massively anticipated game than to simply have an attractive(to you, at least) character on the box and thats it. Final Fantasy games have traditionally not been shallow games, so representing their game with shallow game cover art just doesn't seem fitting at all.

And they changed the timeless FF boxart too. Brilliant!... Square doesn't cease to amaze me.

It's like there trying to make me hate them. What, do they sit around in meetings sayin, hey how can we piss off our fanbase more?

I'm just being sarcastic or cute, or whatever it is you call it. I agree, it certainly is a little bland. Really doesn't affect me though since I live in the States.

I don't think this is a huge shock. XIII is the 360's second Final Fantasy game. We've all seen the 360 logo on a Final Fantasy game before this.x-2tha-z

Call me crazy but I like it. It's simple and clean, very clinical. Some people described it as "shallow" but I don't get that at all. It's minimalist and the woman on the cover is full clothed, looks fairly intelligent and doesn't have a "lets knock boots right now" expression on her face. Methinks that shallow is being defined as female in this case.

The definition of shallow is 'lack of depth'. And this is what I'm talking about. Its just a character and thats it. Very bland and uninspiring. There's just nothing creative about it at all. Boring, stale, unimaginative, and not particularly aesthetically-pleasing either in terms of 'design'(not about the girl's looks).

This is just unimaginative, boring and not very aesthetically pleasing. Its just a single character against a plain white background. Its freaking lame and you know it.

I love how you spout your opinions as fact. If you are artistically inclined at all this is actually a very effective cover, as well as riding a lot on it's shoulders. Why might you ask? Let me explain. (Note: we will be taking away all stamps off of this and just looking at the art)

First notice the fact that the entire piece has nothing in the center. This draws the eye away from having the bland unoriginal object of desire/focus dead in the center of the picture. Instead the logo is skewed up and to the right while our main focus, Lightning, is off centered to the left. What does this do? It makes the picture off balanced and "heavy" to the eyes in which it is drawn to her body, then following her curvature to the logo.

The white background is symbolic in it's simplicity. It does give a sense of cleanliness, but at the same time a sense of mystery and ultimately excitement. Who is this attractive girl? What is her story? What kind of adventure can I expect? She seems to be a fighter/warrior of some sort.

So while you decide to run your mouth about "lack of depth" you are only thinking in a three dimensional mindset. Get your head out of the gutter and maybe you should get some schooling before you decide to be an art critic.

I don't see whats so wrong with it. I like it. You allshould be happy were finally gettting a FF game for xbox.

I like it.. Alot. actually its one of my favorites this gen. Complex boxarts have too much going on, this is perfect. I love it. I'm in the US though sooo... Isn't it the same? I read a thread last night about the boxart and it had the US rating system on it.

There's a difference between telling someone their opinion is literally "wrong" and giving a personal opinion on art. You don't have to agree with someone to be respectful of them having a different opinion than you, especially if it's on something as trivial as cover art.

On topic: the artwork seems a little bland, but I don't really judge games until I play them, so it's not a big deal to me.
