http://www.qj.net/Xbox-360-Elite-HDMI-supports-1-2-standard/pg/49/aid/88175 The last paragraph of the article says that the spring update will give you added video options including those for VGA. Woohoo! Goodbye washout.

I might actually get a VGA if they fix the washed out color issue.

I don't have any problems with VGA... I just notice it's smoother than component.

But if they're saying it'll look better, that's cool.

by smoother im assuming you mean higher resolution. cause thats exactly what it is. vga can set your tv to a more effective rate than component. simple. some older tv's i guess cant adjust the color. i just went to color temp, user option , and then

R 140 B 140 G 140 . looks great. the origional settings were 132 for each but R. R was 131. it looks great.

Well I think VGA looks better.  I play on a 1024x768 monitor and some games will only run in widescreen which I assume shrinks it down to 480p and it looks better than the 480p TV we have in my dorm.  I also like the colors.  My friend has a 720p tv and I don't like the look of it.  But this is good news.

It just comes from certain model TVs....they have alternate color controls for VGA and unfortunately the alternate controls suck and people get a washed out image that they can't fix....but, now after the patch....everyone will be happy.....

I use a VGA with my CRT and it looks very nice, but the colors are def a little washed out. Even with the color settings on full blast its a little dull. You can tell in oblivion, your life/magic/fatige bars are red green and blue and you can really tell when they're washed out.
