Hey Billy-Boy why not do something for your source of income, the consumers who shelled out dough for your HD-Drive. Not only did some of us have to endure multiple RROD episodes(6 here on 2 machines) but now my HD-DVD is a paperweight. How about having developers make games for it using the higher capacity drive , how about offering a trade in value or something for an item who's lifespan was less than a full year. I don't know about anyone else but I dont like being shafted the way I have from Microsoft as of late. I hope that Class-Action does something.

hey TC there is nothing you can do about it. Thats just the way a format war works. What about the poor laser disc and betamax adopters. Think of it this way you can get a bunch of HDDVDs for really cheap now.

Man I'm glad I had the good sense to wait until the format wars were over. I never thought Blu-ray would win but I couldnt afford to gamble on HD-DVD. Glad I didnt. Now I just got to wait for the MS blu-ray player.

1) I'm not sure you know what RRoD is if you say you've have it 6 times on two consoles....

2) Just because they stopped making HD-DVD's doesn't mean it's a paperweight, go out and buy the HD DVD's while they're cheap. You also use the player to play normal DVD's saving some stress on your 360's Disk Tray (mine's a piece of crap tray so I do)

3) There can't be a Class Action because no one made you buy it, no one guaranteed it would 'live'

In the "customer-focused" society we live in today, it is almost unheard of to be subject to a trail by fire atmosphere in 2008. I can appreciate your viewpoint but it doesnt mean they should'nt be liable for something.

How many people bought the add-on, anyway? Anyone got a number? I say like 5%.

When you buy a device that is involved in a format war you go in knowing that it might become obsolete... No sense in complaining about it. There are still plenty of movies you can get for it... Enjoy it as much as you can.

This always occurs with the introduction of a new product or technology. Its a risk that all early adapters should consider with the purchase decision; when we bought HD-DVD or Blu-Ray we took the risk that either one of them will not last forever (I actually always thought that both will end up dying). Its not useless though, there are alot of HD-DVD movies now available, and the Drive can still be used to up-convert regular DVDs. If you don't want it then just sell it on Ebay, you will probably get $50 bucks for it.

thats why you dont invest in something that is in a 'war' so to speak. there was always a chance HD-dvd would lose and you knew that. and when it tumbled down in price that is clearly a sign that it wasnt doing well. why would you invest in something that is likly to die out? who exactly are you trying to blame for your wasteful purchase?

It`s not Microsofts fault they tried to compete in a free enterprise market and lost, personally I applaud them for taking a risk.

If you didn't know what you were getting into, I have no idea how that's MS' fault. Everyone else seemed to understand there was a format war out there. The movies still work, they can be bought for cheap, the drive will still work as an external disc drive for both your PC and your 360, etc...... hardly a paperweight in my books.

I think you just like to whine.

Still makes no sence, M$ doesn't repair your console and send it back, they send back a refurbished one, that was once someone elses.

SW would be a better destination for a rant against MS. Thanks.
