I quit playing Gears because it was no longer fun because of Host advantage, and if you dont' think there is an actual advantage you are just in denial because you wanna believe the game is perfect.. But i went back and started playing Cod3 and that game has gone way downhill. Everybody just uses the support gun and if you've played the game the support gun is ridiculous. you can go from standing to prone in not even a second and blast someone. looks like i'm gonna have to invest in Vegas now.
I like it when people use the support gun because then I can just pick them off from a different location. I understand y it gets on people nerves though.

yea i agree on both terms, although i have learned to overtake the host in gears with simple active shots and wise,quick cover. And on COD3 i know exactly what you mean. im not as good in COD3Â and i never use the support but ur right it is annoying. i hate how you're a sniper and you can have a duel with a assault gun across the map and you can lose so easily. but like the otha guy said, just choose a spot and snipe the support if he aint moving around.

yea but dont lie cuz i kno you have at least complaiend once or twice bcuz in a shotgun battle you get taken out in one shot. gears host IS a little too insane, but nonetheless beatable.

i have all but the serious achievement and i'm somewhat close to that. i know how to play the game. it's like playing a football game against 12 players instead of 11. clear advantage
only hosts that have a bad ping get a severly noicable host connection cause they make other people lag ive been host and actually tested the advantage other people have actually beat me in snipe off's cause we felt like testing it out. although once people notice thier hosting makes them 10x better they never will stop. so that is a problem.

No....... In gears host advantage is an superpowered shotgun, and beign harder to hit cause he has a lower latency then everoyne else.
when i host a 10 round match i usually go about 20-5 or so. when i DON'T host i go about 8-10. it's a HUGE advantage. And now COD3 is ridiculous with peopel just laying down the whole game using the support gun. time for some new live games.

um have you ever had a shotgun fight against a host who win? go with Rainbow Six it is way better online then Gears of War and COD3. I have never heard one person on Rainbow Six say "you stole my kill" not even one. And I never have played against little kids that have a squiky voice. Also there is no host advantage.
1. Host advantage may exist, but it doesn't ruin a game. Every game that requires twitch reflexes has some kind of host advantage. It is for the most part probably in your head.
2. What will you play now? Other than Vegas and maybe Lost Planet, there aren't many good online shooters on the 360 that anyone plays. I'm not saying that the flaws you listed like unbalanced weapons and host advantage are ok, but you can't do better anywhere else on the 360, maybe the PC (actually definitely the PC)

It's exaggerated HUGELY by people who get beaten badly than they'd like, so they immediately blame something. Every game, the losing team will say at one point "who's host!?". Every time. It's nowhere near as bad as people make out.
ummm dude u have to play more, everytime i play the weapons are really balanced among the players, for my case i usually see more rifles than support guns, i usually see 1 or 2 support guns in the axis side since it is harder to get used to their weapons and the support gun is the easiest to use, good players don't really use the support gun they use the rifles.

i agree that gow has taken the ubisoft way of doing these type of games. with host advantage which i dont know how its even in one game, let alone in all the ubisoft games and countless others.
its got to be the biggest boosters wish to have something like that, to claim something your not. bye using a outdated way of game play that underminds the whole point of playing ranked games in the first place. every game should be bye vote, not bye host control in which a crybaby can boot you out of a hard earned victory or to gain true skill over the person you beat fair and square. only to have that which is the host boot you because your better then they'll ever be.
its a crying shame how many good gamers get turned off bye a good game which carries this little "Baby vavle" i love how certian games overcompenstate for eye cady graphics and hyped up promotions.

Yeah, I played COD3 for a couple months then went right back to BF2. I completely agree with what your saying. Kinda pissed me off because I use a kar98 and when I get killed by some run n gun chump, I want to hit somebody. The kit takes zero skill to use.

I am able to man up and say, yeah your better than me thats why I lost, but there are times where if your fighting the host face to face, your gonna lose no matter what.
