First Mafia 2 review is in!

Just got the Official Xbox Magazine through the mail today and saw the Mafia 2 review... It only got 7/10.

Anyone who was thinking of getting it still going to get it after reading that review? They really went through it in that review. I think I'll definitely have to wait until I play the demo on the 10th to decide what to do, but it's looking like a miss for me. :( I was so looking forward to it, too.

I'll wait for more reviews and try the demo.

well 7 really isnt bad and thats what i was expecting really. I never really planned on picking this game up though at least not new.

Meh a 7 isn't bad and I really don't care about the score. I will try the demo and decide for myself but so far it looks like a great game.

..What i saw it looks pretty decent..Are you expecting every game to be like mass effect 2..If thats the case than youl be dissapointed in every game thats released..Makes me laugh if thats all your going bye on a game..Instead of looking under the hood an seeing what game-play is all about..People dissed alpha protocol but it wasnt a bad game..All them people who bashed it never even played it..Alpha protocol grows on ya because of good game-plsy..Wish some of you kids today lived in the atari age..Graphics at this point dont bother me..Its the fun in a game under the hood that ill see how it is myself before making judgement call...

The main crux of it all was it has a great soundtrack and a decent-looking world, but the action is very disappointing, the cars drive like crap and the characters are boring, ill-explained and leave you not giving a damn about them.

Really not sure about it. Right now, it sounds a lot like a prettier version of Godfather 2... which is never a good thing.

Reviews are just another man/woman's view on a game from THEIR prespective. I could care less what someone gave a game as their 7 might be my 10.

Will check reviews but there are very few good mobster games out there and Mafia II is definitely a game i will pick up no matter what the score will be.

7/10 ain't a bad score,I'll play the demo then see what i think,i tend not to take to much from the official mag.

You should never judge a game by reviews. MW2 got great reviews and I never thought it was any good while godfather 2 got a 4.5 rating from gamespot while i though it was one of the best games released last year. Some people just have different taste in games. You should make your mind up yourself

I'll download the demo when it releases. If the game turns out to be fun, or I enjoy it at the very least I'll pick it up in a rental. I don't have the money to buy a game at the moment, so if I can rent Mafia II and go at it comprehensively for the week I'd have it, then I should have a good idea of whether I want it or not. And within a week I might have completed it. Time shall tell.

Any magazine that specializes in just a system, like OXM or PSM, are generally much harder on multiplats and therefore don't really get my attention. I would wait for a reputable review magazine or website before jumping to conclusions.

Never understood why people who care so much about reviews, looks at a 7 as a fail. These days if it doesn't get a 9.9, now their weary about it, all that hype flies out that window. If you knew from the gameplay video's and previews that you would enjoy the game. would me saying I don't like the game or its just alright really change anything? Not everyone's opinion will match yours, to actually miss out on a game you were looking forward to because your awaiting validation makes no sense. Sepewrath

I'm more interested in the PC review, the original Mafia wasn't that great on consoles, but it was a masterpiece on PC. PernicioEnigma

You know this how? Because you compared it to all the other zero reviews you read?

One review means nothing, heck the first few mean nothing until you start finding reviewers that aren't in the same circle
