And the first game I bought was Madden NFL 10. This is the FIRST time I've ever played the Xbox 360. I don't know if it's just me but the football game is quite a challenge. I'm flabbergasted at all the control settings and when it really comes down to the action, I just press a bunch of buttons (get too excited/anxious...) just to bring someone down from the opposing team. And I can't seem to kick the damn ball on a kickoff :/ Nor can I break damn tackles... On a kick return, I can only get it to the 30 yrd line on my half at most. I guess what I'm looking for in response is if there are any suggestions/tips to make this game easier. I'm getting my ass kicked in every game... :( Are other xbox 360 games that challenging as well? I'm still trying to adapt to the xbox wireless control as I'm not familiar with it at all. How did you guys manage playing in the first Madden NFL game? Was it easy for you guys? Maybe I'm just an idiot...

Well There are games that are cheap like The Orange Box or Mass Effect. Gears of Wars 2 is one of my first games for the 360. Hmmm I might perfer GTA IV If you are into the GTA Series. Don't worry you will get used to Madden though. I sucked big time at Madden but I learned to get better. There are a number of games you can try out. Many for a low price.

What difficulty are you on? Try starting off slow by playing on the lowest difficulty just to learn how to play the game then gradually work your way up. I tend to do this in all of my games. Also there's a custom difficulty to better suite your skills and make a challenging experience.

I didn't even change the difficulty settings. So I guess it's at the lowest now, right?

Well if you pull the right or left trigger when you pick your jersey before every game you can change the difficulty. I suggest playing on the lowest and finding your strengths and weaknesses then use custom to work them out. Develop strategies now and eventually you can bring them online. I myself am not a good madden player, but still enjoy the game and I hope you will too.

everyone is like this when they first play a video game that they've never played before. It just takes time. I remember trying to get the hang of an FPS on a controller and the controlls just became second nature within a few weeks of playing. Just try to remember some of the button commands for now and then learn all the fancy stuff as your skill progresses.

Just start at the lowest difficulty setting and practice. If you're just starting out, you're gonna get beat quite a few times. There's people that play this game religiously. And if you're getting beat against the computer, try using franchise mode. Pick a team you're willing to play with for a couple seasons and do just that. Over time, you'll be able to find that teams strengths and weaknesses and use them to your advantage. Pressing random buttons out of anxiousness will not help your cause at all. Which teams are you playing as?? Maybe I can help you identitfy their strengths and weaknesses and which plays to run on offense/defense. Also, check out this sites Madden 10 game guide, maybe you can find some helpful info. in that

i have a 360 that i recently got and the only sports game is have is madden 10 but i do have alot of fps and rpg games. I have been having troble learning the controlls to madden 10 too, i think that it is because i am used to playing fps games that have pretty basic controls.

can i ask what other types of games you used to play on another system? if it was shooter or rpg games then it is probably just you needing to get used to the different game style that ocmes with a sports game.
