Hey everyone! Wanted to share my good news. Yesterday i took it upon myself to try and fix a RROD on a system 4 or 5 years old (out of warranty). So i went through the process of stripping the 360 down to the motherboard. Removed the x-clamps, replaced the bolts with some screws that would fit to make the processor and gpu sit closer to the heatsinks. Threw away the x-clamps (wasn't sure about that, but they wouldn't fit now). Then i partly put it back together for testing purposes and BAM no RROD booted up perfectly!
I was so happy! Supposedly this is a permanent fix so im glad i took an old system i was going to throw away and just made it work again.
