For a newcomer to the XBOX world, i need some tips

ok, i got me a 360...but i was wondering if there are any games i have to try out from the prevous XBOX, besides HALO. any MUST HAVES!!??? Also, hows the LIVE community in general? I keep hearing bad reports about verbal abuse, especially towards females. I'll be getting on LIVE in a few days and would like to know what to expect.

Besides Halo, I would only recommend Kotor 2.

The LIVE community is pretty f up. But it changes a bit from game to game. If your a girl, I would strongly recommend you to mute your mic and don't give any signals you're a girl or you'll get guys trying to be "funny". The best thing to do is to have some friends in your list and try to play with them.

Doom 3 is amazing, you should check it out. (Even though it's first person I still think you would like it)

Also you go click on the xbox 360 bar below the search bar and click on xbox compatable in the sub-menu. There's some good games listed there.

For the abuse, some games are worse then other. Gears and Halo = too many kids.

The 360 controller is fine for fighters, download the DOA4 demo on the marketplace to try it out.

A good old TPS would be the first GRAW for SP, but if you want to play on Live just pick up Graw 2.

don't forget Half Life 2 from original xbox! - i know it's coming out soon for 360, but it's REALLY good. itdelivers a long story, has good graphics, a pretty good framerate, PLUS you could probably find a cheap copy of it online or at gamestop since it's been out for a few years.

it was voted XBOX Game Of The Year 2005 byIGN ... well, i think it was IGN... but definitely Game Of The Year.
