for Gears of War fans

I was wondering if any 360 gears gamers feel ripped off by epic, as they're giving some huge exclusive extras(such as 5 new chapters)to the pc that we'll never see, personally this has really lowered my opinion of epic and Cliffy B., even microsoft for allowing it.... and please, I want only responses from actual 360gears fans, no pc vs 360/console games or just bashing of the 360.solidsnake2050

You never know, we may see those missions in a future GoW game. As for CliffyB. God, he has always acted like he was the greatest mastermind in gaming history. People seem to pay attention to him because he is "Edgy and cool and doesn't look nerdy."

I own GoW, Collectors Edition in fact, but to be honest, there are some pretty big flaws in the game. Mainly the story. I mean, they never actually explain the story at all. You are expected to know five missions into the game all about Marcus's dad. What the hell. As for the gameplay, while it is good, it isn't incredible. I think they relied WAY too much on the cover system. I think Rainbow Six Vegas is a good example of how to work in a good cover mechanic.

a new engine for the game doesn't justify it, I was, and may be will be, a loyal fan of Gears and epic. but this is just unfair, why do pc gamers get way more than I did for the same price? just cause I prefer the 360 to the pc?solidsnake2050

Your topic is invalid. Perhaps 360 owners should be upset that PS3 owners got Knights of the Nine on Oblivion without having to pay for it.

Honestly, 360 players (including myself) got to play the game a full year earlier than PC gamers.

Should we be upset that Sigma was released on the PS3 years later with a complete butt-load of extra content? No.

If anyone has followed Epic at all you would've seen this coming a YEAR ago.

yes... i feel ripped off, gears was a half of a game, at the most

They stated that the only reason that they won't see the light of day on 360 is because the PC version is using a new engine (well updated, not new), and so is the new content. Therefore, in order to get the new content on the 360, they'd sorta have to rebuild it again to work with the older engine, and even then, you wouldn't get the full experience out of it.jamejame

of course the engine is updated, but that is to make it compatible with PC, not for any other reason

I've been playing Gears nonstop for a year and this move felt very undermining to me. From a business perspective I can completely understand why they're doing it. They need something to boost a new version of a previously released game and porting the new stuff would be slow and expensive. Butfrom a company who claims to value fans over business this was quite a slap in the face. The only reason the game is so popular is because of the Xbox 360. Without the revenue gained from the original console a PC version could easily have been scrapped earlier. But it became a huge hit and how does Epic repay the loyalty of millions of fans? By adding quite a load of exclusive material that will never reach the people who payed $60 for the game and $10+ for maps and such. Not to mention all of the people who bought a 360 specifically for Gears of War, who there were quite a few of where I'm from.

It ultimately won't deter me though, I'll still play the game and love it as I have thus far. I only hope GoW2 sets the bar even higher.

I'm disappointed. Because my 360 can run the game far better then my PC.

I will most likely buy the PC version. It's just one of those annoying things. To me.

Yeh that bugged me too but when you think about how else would they sell the game if its the same thing as the 360.

Cliffy B. Simply put is the man. He knows it, we know it, and everyone else knows it. And I for one believe that if Cliffy does something like this it's for a very good reason.

Anyone stop to think that maybe Cliffy wanted that extra stuff to come to 360 but Microsoft wanted to charge to much for it so he decided instead of making us pay to much for new content he would just say it were never coming?

All I know is that this man is a genius. And please, if you say other wise and start shooting off about how arrogant he is, and what an ego he has. Like an Game Developer doesn't. Look at Bungie.

So all in all, I don't feel hurt by it one bit. Cause I know in the long run we're gonna get something exclusive for Gears/Gears 2 at some point. It's only a matter of time.

I don't like it....but do I care? NO! Its just a small portion of the game. Story stays the same. So what if you don't get to fight the big monster. If you want to play it that bad, just go buy you a new PC and quit your griping. I own the Gears of War for 360. I do not like the fact that I will not be experiencing these new levels and such, but I don't feel bad enough to post a whole thread on it. You just need to sell your Wii, and get a PC. Either that or play Halo 3. Because as of now, Halo 3 is what everyone is playing. And PC gamers will soon get this with some Bonus Content, then I'm sure we'll hear from you again. So with that being said I hope you find out that its not that serious.

Yeah, right! Gaming is now becoming politics too. There is no such thing as exclusive content anymore. And whatever exclusive content it may be, it's usually not worth the extra money or hassle to pick it up. I'm the type of person who doesn't care much for a game once the hypse has died. Think about it. While Gears was stil fresh everyone was all excited and stuff. But now, since Halo 3 is out, nobody cares about Gears anymore. The updates and everything Microsoft and Epic did to apparently fix the game, ended up ruining it. You can't play in ranked matches with your friends, like Halo 3. Whoever hosts matches basically has the advantage, unlike Halo 3. Gears of War wasn't good because it was Gears of War. It was good just because it was one of the best games to come out during its time, which was last November. Here we are a year later. So Drop It!

Dude think about it the PC users had to wait almost a whole year to get their version so what if they get a little more content are you really going to bit** about it? Do I wish they released it on 360 back when it came out yeah, but they didn't we just gotta get over it.

not really, cause i know this stuff will be on Xbox live for download in about 3-6 months.... that and a Gears of War deluxe edition for 360 with all the new stuff. wait and see...ajefferism

gears of war is a really fun game but ever since they started updating it it got horrible, (lag increased with annex,no names in rankd matches, etc..) and the game is supposed to be a 360 exclusive but now its going to the pc, which isnt fair that thye get all the new content because for us gears of war players we get nothing but crummy maps for free. until they fix the problems with the game i'll be playing halo 3...
