Well it's not. You can't simulate war. You just can't. I fought in the gulf war in the early 90's and no game can ever simulate what it's like to be in a battle. So I don't like it when 13 year old kids think playing battlefield is what real war is like. It's a million miles away.

Rant over.

And that's the point, you actually have "SOME" people who play BF and other shooters believe that they are real soldiers and that they know what war is like. You get hit with a 50 cal in "REAL" life...there is no reset button dude.:|

I don't recall anybody with more than 3 braincells calling it a simulation for actual war... It's MORE accurate than many other cames *cough*CoD*cough*, but that doesn't make it realistic... Just moreso... Pretty sure you've been talking to the wrong people or not paying attention...

Can't a kid be a kid? What's so bad about that? I mean, a lot of kids have to grow up too soon, and the fact is a vivid imagination often leads to greater creativity and diversity in adults. Sorry to rain on your parade buddy, but I really don't find it that offensive, if it's a kid saying it. Silly as it may sound to you or me. The fact is, we are only children for a little while, and we are adults for a really long time. So I say cut 'em a break man.

On a more serious note, I also would like to thank you for serving. I tried to sign up for the Air Force at the beginning of the first Gulf war, and they wouldn't take me 'cause of speeding tickets. Man I had fun being a kid in the 70s/80s!

As a general rule, I wouldn't take anything a 13 year old says too seriously. They are just kids. Now if these are full adults talking about how a video game is an authentic war simulator, then I would understand your frustration, though at the same time if an adult believes this they are either not that smart or just woefully unaware and are probably not worth your frustration anyway.

I always get a laugh whenever people claim mainstream FPS games are "realistic". Both COD and Battlefield are very arcadey games. If you want to see an FPS simulator looks like, look at ARMA:

Most of the time you won't even be fighting in that game, just moving around slowly from cover to cover and guarding areas.
