How do you keep everyone alive during the suicide mission? I had Tali and that drell guy die during my run. They were all loyal but somehow still died.

How do you keep them all alive?

make sure you use medpacks. They are key to survival. You can map the med-packs to a shoulder button or the Y button.

It depends on who you have running through the vents, and who is leading the second team(s).
Tali and Legion are good 'tech expert' choices, but will die if the leader of the second team isn't good enough.
Garrus is an excellent choice to lead the second team, as is Miranda. If it helps, Samara is an excellent choice for Biotic expert.

I had Legion run through the vents, Garrus lead the other teams when required, and Samara create the Biotic bug repellent. Thane was the escort for the survivors, but as long as that team member is loyal, it doesn't matter who it is. With the Normandy's upgraded systems, I got everyone through alive.

You need your people to be loyal to start. Next you need to pick the right people for the tunnel, squad leader, etc.

i had a couple of my teammates die in the suicide mission...i think its linked tothe level each character. I'm assuming if yougo into the last mission at level 20 or early 20's, possible only a few will survive. However if you go in at level 30, possibly everyone will survive? Just a guess.

In Ship

If you don't have something (forgot what): Jack will be killed almost right away, I believe it is always her

If you don't have shields: Explosion in engineering: Tali will die. If she was with you for the fight, Legion will die. If both were with you then I don't know.

If you don't have hull upgrades: Someone will die in crash, I think it might be one of the two fighting with you, or that is what happened to me when I wanted to see what happened.

On Mission

People who can Hack: Tali or Legion (have them loyal)

People who can lead either time: Garuss, Miranda, or Jacob (have loyal)

People who can escort: Anyone who is loyal People who can be the biotic: Samara, Morinith (SP?), or Jack

After boss fight: If you took someone with you who was not loyal that person will die

Endgame: I heard people could die depending on how long you take in the final fight, non loyal people will almost always die. Not sure how it works though.

Surviving Crew

Go after them right away: All survive

Go after after doing at least one mission: Kelly and, I think, the two engineers are dead

Go after after doing ? missions: Everyone but the doctor is dead

Other

From what I have heard and seen myself things like level, upgrades, or reasearching characters special weapons (Grunt's Shotgun, Mordins tool, or Legions rifle) have no effect on anything. Time it takes to kill the last boss (after you leave the rest of your men) might have an effect. If a character is not loyal they will almost certainly die, I have heard that it is possible for them to live though, but I never tried it. Characters people seem to have the most trouble keeping alive is Thane, Jack, and Mordin.

Legion or Tali in Vents. Garrus or Miranda lead fire teams. Anyone can escort back. Jack or one of the Asari for Bubble. For Modin to survive you either have to have him do the escort mission, or be in your party at the end.dlindenb2000

No you don't need Mordin in your party at the end. Where are people getting this information?

Not sure if its a glitch, but its been happening to people, including me. If I don't take him with me to fight the final boss or send him back to the shuttle he dies.

I sent tali through the vents, and she survived OK. I also picked Garrus as the other squad leader, and he survived. And for the barrier, i picked Samara. My mistake was picking Zaeed to escort the people back to the normandy. You need to pick Mordin, or else he will die at the end.

not true, I sent Legion through vents, Garrus lead the second squad on both series, and Zaeed escorted my crew, Jack did my biotic barrier and Mordin was never in my crew. All of my characters were loyal and all survived including the normandy crew

Doom_HellKnight

That was actually the exact same combination I used too. I also did evryones loyalty mission (although Tali wasn't loyal after the mission because of what I did), and everyone made it out of there.

I had Tali go in the vents, Garrus lead the second team, Samara made the biotic shield and Zaheed lead the survivors back. And I always had Grunt and Jack come with me on the mission. Got everyone out a live

I just completed my second playthrough and managed to keep everyone alive this time (I lost Tali & Mordin 1st time). I researched everything my crew recommended - figure they deserve the best stuff I can give them I had my whole crew loyal. 1st time I had Tali in the vents and Zaeed leading the second team - Tali died opening the doors 2nd time I had Garrus leading the second team and legion in the vents - no-one died but it had nothing to do with legion: Zaeed never gave the command to give Tali cover fire unlike Garrus who kept a barrage of fire up while legion got the door open. I had Garrus lead the second team again because he did so well the first time and again nobody died Used Samara for my biotic sheild both times and both times made it despite a nervy moment near the doors 1st time I sent Legion back with the survivors - no problems. 2nd time I used Jacob - no problems. 1st time I took Miranda and Garrus with me - Mordin died holding the line (which after the first game I thought Salarians would be quite good at!) 2nd time took Tali and Mordin with me - everyone survived. I think you basically have to think about you crew - Garrus and Miranda are both leaders and both have excellent tactical awareness, I think taking them out of the hold the line squad is what killed Mordin. I haven't heard of anyone losing the survivors but I figure you want someone with survival instincts hence I used Leigon (survived alone on that abandoned Reaper well enough) and Jacob (he's ex-alliance and alliance training is all about never leaving a man behind). I took Mordin and Tali with me just so I could keep them alive, throughout the game Quarians have repeatedly got themselves killed and in ME1 the Salarian soldiers couldn't survive even if I took out all geth communications and air support)

I sent Tali through the vents, Garus was leader of the second team. I took Samara with me for the biotic shield and had Garus guard the door. I sent Mordin to take back the survivors. Then I took Jack and Miranda with me to the final boss fight. Everyone was loyal and everyone survived.

1. Have all upgrades to the Normandy 2. Have all team members loyal 3. Send Tali or Legion to Vents 4. Have Garrus or Miranda lead team 5. Have Jack or Samara do bubble 6. Garrus or Miranada lead team 7. Anyone can escort crew back 8. I've heard Mordin dies randomly sometimes, didn't happen to me. 9. I may have placed somethings out of order.

I only lost Zaeed. He was my least favorite character and I thought anyone you sent back escort the crew would die. He wasn't loyal for me, I guess thats why.

I just did this last night and had everyone survive on my first run. I used: *choose "look for alternate route" during planning dialogue* I also chose to have the rest of my team hold the doors near the end. Not sure if that makes a difference. Vents: Tali Squad Leader: Jacob Squad Leader (2nd time): Garrus Biotic Specialist: Jack Escort Leader: Mordin On my team: Miranda & Thane (not that it matters) That's what I used, here's what you need to do, from what I've read. Vents: Tali or Legion Squad Leaders: Miranda, Garrus, or Jacob Biotic: Samara or Jack Escort: anybody Common problems people have: 1. Make sure that you have the three major ship upgrades: the shields (I think from Tali), the armor (from Jacob), and the cannon (from Garrus) 2. Make sure everyone is loyal 3. ONLY use Jack for the Biotic specialist if you purchased her biotic upgrade prototype. Otherwise, it'll go horribly wrong. 4. I highly, highly recommend using Mordin for your escort. Mordin seems to be Bioware's "randomness" factor. Many players have reported that despite doing everything right, Mordin still died. Sending Mordin away to escort the survivors is the only way to make absolutely sure that he'll survive. 5. Don't use Zaeed. For anything.

Also, if you want to save your crew as well (Kelly, the cook, etc), you have to hit the Omega 4 relay and start the suicide mission IMMEDIATELY after the crew abduction/Joker mission. If you do any other missions or land on any other world after the abduction sequence, you WILL lose your crew. Get absolutely everything done before you do the IFF mission. Everything. The moment you're done the IFF mission, immediately talk to Legion to get his Loyalty mission. This is the one, and only, mission you can do after the IFF mission.

what i want to know is to those ppl who had crew members die on their first run--will you upload that file into ME3 since it is your original run and story, or will you upload a file where everyone survived just because you want to see them in the next game? All of my characters survived on my first run, so I don't have this dilemma but if I did, I would upload my first file even if someone had died because it keeps the game personal and shows how much your choices really matter
