So how is it for those that DO have it. I've read the reviews and have seen many mixed reactions, the biggest problem I'm hearing is the mic quality on it. I hear it is hard for other players to hear what you're saying. Would like to hear from some people who do have it, thanks.

The mic quality is poor and is likely do to the fact that the mic is too far from the mouth. It will also disconnect for brief moments. I also don't like the way in hangs on my ear. It literally hangs and doesn't feel like it's secure. I don't recommend it. The standard headset is better.

Anyone know if Microsoft plans to make an improved one anytime soon? I'm getting real tired of the wired headset, it's actually a bit of a nuisance for me now.

I really like my wireless. I've only had a couple problems communicating with people and I've had it fora couple months. And I prevented it from just "hanging" on my ear by just switching it with the smaller size it comes with. I don't think it is worth the $60 though but if you have the cash pick it up for sure.

Same here, i have had mine since it came out and have had no problems with it. The wired mic sounds like crap compared to the wireless, sounds muffled with the wired which i cant stand. $60 is a little steep but if you can snag it for less or don't mind spending the full amount then i say go for it, being completely wire free helps a lot too. And to the guy that said it hangs on your ear switch to the smaller one, when i switched them it fit snug on my ear and was a lot more comfortable then the bigger one.

It's actually only $45 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Headset-Communicator/dp/B000HZFCZQ/sr=8-2/qid=1172644608/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-5571952-2858527?ie=UTF8&s=videogames

I really hate the wired headset but I want this to be a good decision, as I could easily get a brand new game for the price of the headset.

I would just wait for a game you want to come out and spend the 60 on it.  I had the wireless headset and it would disconnect on me and make a buzzing sound in my friends' headsets.  Another one of my friends picked on up and he's had the same problems.  I returned mine.  After I went back to the wired headset it actually felt better, and it sounded clearer too.  All in all I wouldn't recommend it unless your wired headset is really bothering you.  A game is more worth your money in the long run considering you already have a headset.  But thats just my opinion.

The Wireless has a few minor flaws but it sounds better and is soooo comfortable compared to the airline pilot headsets......and you dont look and feel like a geek wearing it......go with the wireless.....the wired ones suck.

When I first got it and had connection problems, I thought man why didn't I just get a game, but once I figured what I was doing wrong, I realized how great the thing is. Its awesome and I would never go back to the old one.

It was a little confusing to get it to work perfectly at first, but once you get used to it, it's perfectly fine.  Well worth the $60 I paid for it at the time.

What were you doing wrong? Do you know how I can fix the dissconnect problem? I LOVE my headset. Fits perfictly and feels like its not there. I was chatting with my friend but I accedently fell assleap and I went to the store not knowing that I had it on lol. BUt i REALLY want to know what I can do to have it not dissconnect. Does it have anything to do with wireless routers and wireless phones interfeering?

please email me if you know here or at chasecarbee@juno.com

I actually foud out that if you have anything wireless like a cordless phone or a wireles router, you need to unplug your phone and unscrew your antenna for your router and you will have something 10 times better that a wired headset. Things like cell phones, wireless routers, microwave ovens and cordless phons interfeer with the frequancy.
