I'm just curious to see how many people bought ODST that already had Halo 3 because the campaign isn't very long and the only new thing is firefight. I don't have any halos so I thought it was a good time to get into the series. How about you guys?

The campaign is highly enjoyable and Firefight is intense and a ton of fun. Worth a good rental at least and definitely worth the full price if you don't have Halo 3. If you have Halo 3 then I'd wait until the price drops.
Yup. I have a copy of Halo 3. Although my reasons for buying ODST were two fold.
On one side, I'm a fan of the Halo series. With ODST, I liked the noir art style, and the slightly different direction that Bungie had taken the franchise. On the other side, I'm a fan of Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin and Tricia Helfer, (the main voice talent in ODST.)
Overall, it was a double whammy of goodness. :)
