A lightsaber is your last resort. This is how I played the demo and I couldn't have a better opinion of this game.

I mean the game is called The Force Unleashed, right? For example, pick up a trooper impale him with your lightsaber throw and then perform a Force Push and watch your enemy fly across a landscape and your lightsaber boomer-rang back at you. Honestly, I'm not sure I've played a game that has the physics and perspective that TFU gives the player. Most of the opinions of this game seem to be from people hacking and slashing. If you had these abilities in the real world you'd seldom get up close and personal. I do wish it was online but hell I'm in need of a good singe player experience anyhow!

Their main gripe with it is there are force-resistant enemies that force you to use your lightsaber (aka glowing wifflebat). Idc, I'm getting it anyway

Isn't that what the devs said about Too Human? That the reviewers just didn't get it. Personally, the gaming media and i haven't been seeing eye to eye very much on games recently. I enjoyed Too Human, Mercs 2, and i'm sure i'm gonna love Force Unleashed too. I'm not too worried about what the gaming media thinks about it.

yes but seldom using the lightsaber abilities, will get you shot that = killed. i stood there especially on hard mode, and you stay still for too long and your a dead man.

i think the saber combat could be better without doubt. the best saber combat ever was jedi knight 2, it was very deep. they should have taken it down that route rather then the DMC route.

With less than a week to the Star Wars: TFU release, magazine scores are coming in with crap-tastic scores of 70's or less. This has caused many a people to either say 'I don't care about the scores! First day for me!' or 'Yeah, I cancelled my pre-order'. In response I point out the obvious that no one seems to notice (I guess it is not that obvious)... Show me a review that doesn't bash the game on one of the following 3 items: 1) This is nothing like Jedi Knight: Outcast or Academy. 2) The story is really short and not a deep decision based weave. (read KOTOR) 3) Where is the multi-player? This has caused me to realize that this game will suffer for the same reasons the prequels suffered. People are expecting something completely different than is delivered and that is was earns it negative points. What I'm really trying to say is I think the scores will be low for this game simply because peoples expectations are flawed going into it. We'll have to see though, I'm one of those that still want to get it day one because I loved the demo that much. Here is what the game said it would deliver. A game in the SW universe between Episode 3 and 4 where the force is the focus and how the environments interact with those 'unleashed' force powers. You can go good or evil depending on your choice(s) and there won't be any multiplayer except for consoles that suck and can't pull off the force focus parts in the first place... for those consoles we will tack on something that appears to be multiplayer. So unless you merit your review on those, I'm not listening and you shouldn't either. And by reading the responses in this thread we have already nailed two people that wanted a different game than this one for the very reasons the reviewers keep hating this game... Someone want to add the multi-player gripe?

I don't dislike the game because I wanted it to be like KOTOR, don't interpret it like that. I loved the demo and I'm buying it on day one, been looking forward to it for a long time. I just really want a true KOTOR 3 lol

and yes MP is a big deal becuase academy had great saber fights in mp and sp. i cant see much reason to go through this game more than once aside from achievments i watched the first 4 levels today and im unimpressed

Yeah your right the saber fights could be better but i'm almost positive that the makers like this thread is suggesting is that you kinda steer away from the saber and use the force the saber is like a bonus now if they were going to make the total package then use these physics for the force go with the saber fights like academy and give it the updated rpg feel of mass effect. But until they release suck a game this is just another game that is focused on one side of the ball that is star wars just like a lot of the star wars games non of them had it all.

100% agreed. It's like buying a racing game and then get disappointed that its not a FPS. I'm buying the game day one BTW.

And I think the saber combat will get better the more you play, you barley had any combos in the demo. But if you guys have watched the gamespot marathon. You can the list of saber combos is long.

What the hell is there to get about a shallow, generic cash in like this? The only reason people are buying this is because of the SW name.
