My xbox will not let my original account sign in without the password. I went to the xbox website, and they couldn't help at all. They had me make another e-mail account/xbla profile, but when I try to retrieve the password from my original account, they always send the new e-mail account password.

Is there any way to retrieve my original account's password? I downloaded a lot of games on my original account and don't want to lose them just because xbox help site sucks.

I had no idea. But I think I finally got it to work. I had to make yet another e-mail account. It said the info went through and they will determine if I provided enough info for them to think it is in fact me. They will probably deny it, but o well they will get back to me within 24 hours......

don't you remember the original email address your account was registered to? if you do a password reset it sends it to that email, it's stupid they're having you make another email, I doubt the rights to your games will be attached to them

I know the original email, but forgot the password since its always been auto sign in, and for some reason they just asked me to input it. I got a response and thye said I didnt provide enough info. So im gonna call them tomorrow. I have a ton of games attached to my original account and refuse to buy anymore on a different account. I will be so pizzed if they wont give me my password.

The problem is that my xbla account isnt linked with their stupid online site. And now that I cant remember my password, I cant link my original account to the site. I cant play any games unless I sign in, but I can't....no password.

good luck, just as long as you're mindful of retaining the rights to your games then you should be fine

I'm in the exact same situation. I forgot my password and my account is linked to an expired email. I spend 2 hours talking w/ Microsoft on the phone and I THINK I will be able to get access, but I have to create a new account, sit on it, wait for link to reset old account, wait 30 days, merge two accounts. At one point they told me that if I can't access my old account based on information that I provide (meaning if I forget it they can't access it) then I lose all content that is tied to my account. I can create a new account, but there is no way they can go in and transfer the content, even if I provide them with unlimited information that I am who I am. Needless to say, I am pretty peeved at their process for this, and the fact they have no way of going in on their end to unlock anything.

I will literally freak out on the phone if they cannot help me. I have more than $150 in games on my HDD. I better be able to access them on my old profile. I'll be done with any microsoft console if I cannot gain access to my profile at all. Sony's password retrieve was so simple. All you do is put in your e-mail, fill out the letters and numbers to prove you are human then they send it to your e-mail. Microsoft is phuckin ridiculous.
