Forza 2 - Anti Aliasing.

Is there like no AA on this game or is my TV broken? It's all pixelated for example on the lighting on the car. And it looks like all the cars have jagged edges..

Did anybody else run into this problem? I'm usually not the kind of guy to complain about this kind of stuff but it just looks really bad :(

And yes I do have an HDTV.

Yes Demo has a 2x or no AA.

So does that mean there isnt any AA in the demo? such a bad marketing decision..

Demos are on Hard Drive ,

and Hard drive is not as fast as DVDrom + HDD combination.

So Some demos should show a low graphical performance (The Best Example is RainbowSix Vegas demo, Extremely Frame Rate problems ...etc)

I honestly doubt that has anything to do with it. The Rainbow demo just ran like crap because it was an old build.

As for Forza, it wasn't just the AA that made it look bad. There was pretty much no lighting at all. Where was the HDR? besides it messing it my car I didn't see any sweet sunlight effects. It all looked kinda bland.

All in all a total disappointment for me..

Agreed... the graphics were a disappointment. The gameplay is still great, but I could throw in Forza 1 and get that. I do hope there's a significant upgrade. I could even deal with jaggies if they had some nice HDR effects.

The developers, Turn 10, have already confirmed that the demo and final game use 2X AA @ 60 fps ingame and 4X AA @ 30 fps for the replays, which is the reason the latter look better.

Ironically, the official Forza Motorsport 2 site still mentions that the game supports 720p, 60 fps, 4X AA and HDR lighting on its About page!!!  :lol:

he, he... i do......   but i only play it on a 32 inch screen and i only play games that are great. if the gameplay is great it's easier to look past those horrible thingies.. they should be a thing of the past. the really keep the graphics from being truelly immersive imo. 

Actually you know what, I didn't see a problem at all at first but after many complaints I went back to check the game and now I can see the shimmering and jaggies on the car models now. I think I'll have to change my opinion about the graphics, they are kind of weak for a system of this power and the price of the game.Jaggies should be a thing of the past.CaptainCrazy

First off the demo is from the final build so dont expect anychanges at all from the game it self and as for it not havin g AA it does but 2*AA wont remove all jaggies and they need performance over quality. the game went gold a week after the demo so get prepaired for some jaggy racing.

remember how great PGR3 looks and the amount of lag you get from it, And thats why take ten opted for the mid range graphics but ultra performance, since the game has fast moving objects thats the only option in my eyes.

BTW racing games will never become the best looking game for any console.

so stop expecting realism from it, because the game looks good and plays solid.

Don't even get me started. Hooking mine up to an HDTV after having a 360 for a year was a very bitter experience for me. I even hooked it up with the component cables... I'm like... is this thing broken? Ugh, I would've rathered a $600 "Revolution" than a $250 Gamecube Redux. That being said, just try to make me stop buying systems that have Zelda games!

Anyway, back on topic... how do you know this, 007? I want proof!

yeah, i would have paid 600$ for a big fat 720P high res multi coreWii too.. but i think business wise they made a smart move.. for gamers they made a wrong move. i still love the wiimote and the gameplay, but i hate the graphics.
