You guys are blowing this WAY out of proportion. There isn't some massive software failure going on.
ppl are now saying Forza is pushing the 360 much harder, making more heat. this heat bends or disconnects connection between important parts on the motherboard. cybermario
Which "people" are these? Company reps of some sort or forum posters? Because 90% of what you hear on forums is BS, sometimes even what I say is bs. They actually toned Forza down to run at 60FPS, so that theoryis out the window. I leave my 360 on for hours at a time playing forza, and like any other game, there are no negative repercussions. The only results of said gameplay is my enjoyment.

i agree, and if it was true then theres no way u could possible complete a endurance race. last time i played i did two endurance races. one with 25 laps and the second 45 i think, with streaming music and no problems whatsoever. i even leftthe360on for 30 min cause i had to get something to eat and still no problems. must be their 360.

Same here. My Xbox has run forza for at least 5 continuous hours every night since it came out. Most of the time it runs for longer than that, and I haven't had any issues.

the only time mine has locked up is scrolling thru my garage very quickly. it never locksed up in a race. it's a great game. the problem with oblivion pre patch was much worse, and even that was still worth playing. rdo
Exactly.
[QUOTE="elmafia"]forza 2 is probably the only game that hasnt crashed on meGXR
Highfive ! Forza 2 non crash buddy !
Forza 2 crash for me... NOTWell I believe its more of a dvd drive problem than heat. I have a core 360 Hitachi drive freezes randomly and often on Forza 2. Played Tenchu Z for hours no freezing. I just bought another core system ( First 360 Launch console no warranty and I'm not paying $150 for a refurb). It has the Ben Q dvd drive and has not froze at all. I do believe the development consoles have the BQ drive and the disks probibly werent tested in any other drive. DATA RATE!!! and by the way my friends 360 just got a coffin and died playing Forza 2, did not have the BQ!!!CorporateHammer
Well I have Hitachi and mine works just fine. Bought my 360 in februari 2006
i have Hitachi Drive. The date on my 360 says April 06. Im going to be sad if it does screw up my console. cybermario
I would assume mine has a Hitachi drive as well. It's manufacture date is 12/24/05 and I bought it on 2/10/06. I've never had one single problem with my 360 and I've never had to send it in for repair and I play it everyday for at least 2-4 hours. It's special. :)
Edit: And it also survived the Nyko Intercooler for 2 months! Which did give me the 3 red lights when I first put it on.
I apologize to those of you who aren't having a good time. It's frustrating when things don't work the way you expect them to. Please keep in mind that the issues in this thread are uncommon when compared to an install base of well over 100,000 users based on what we are seeing on our scoreboards. More importantly, we are concerned about all of our users and will do our best to resolve any issues we are made aware of.
Second, it's been very helpful to get specific information from people trying to analyze and trouble shoot issues. Examples of good information we've been getting include:
·I crash on loading screens only.
·I crash only when using career cars.
·I crash in the middle of the first race every time.
·When I crash I get a DDE.
·When I crash the screen freezes but audio continues to play.
·I don't crash but I start seeing weird graphic anomalies.
All of the above is useful information for us.
Third, I'd like to make some observations and suggestions:
EDIT: found word that was picked up and censored. (cl@ss).
This game has yet to leave my disc tray and i bought it the first day. No issues whatsoever. Some people are always going to have problems, and thus make the real issue appear much bigger than it is. Your fine i'm sure

i know right
many other games out there freeze and crash for a lot of people, how come we never hear a peepout ofthose? but all of the sudden forza is crashing and burningeverybody's 360s, what a coincidence ... right.
i play it for like 2 hours everyday and never have a problem of any sort, maybe these people having problems with forza never take breaks, did it ocurr to anyone to take a break from their games every hour or so? the system is working hard enough as it is, i dont know maybe playing a game for like 8 hours straight will eventually have a consequence of some sort, i imagine it would.
so please if you're having trouble with the game, take a break, go outside, visit a friend, go to the supermarket, go to the gym, do something other than long marathons of playing forza that'll roast your 360, enough said, good luck everyone.
