I would ahve posted in the forza boards, but it's not working at the moment.

I really need to know how ahrd this game is, to be honest I suck at racing games, flat out suck.

But I still like them, and I am planning on buying Forza 2 in about an hour, depending on what you guys say here.

I would like to hear a comparison to other games such as GT3/4, PGR, GTR.

If the game is as hard as GTR 1/2 I will not buy it. I have never completed a race in that game, I just don't have the patienc. If it's more along the lines of the GT games then I think I should be able to handle it.

I hope you can help me out. :)

I cant compare it to the other games cause like u im not very good so dnt bother buyin them however i think its relativly to win a race in it, its more of the mastering of the controls that take time. The games racing lines make life a lot easierand teahes how to race and if u follow them to the letter then really u cnt go wrong the only time i mess up is wen i think im cleverer then the lines and dcide notto brake as much as they say

first off, what is GTR? and I find it easier than GT3/4 since the brakes work faster and you dont have to hold them down long

It's pretty easy if you want it to be, then step up the difficulty and you have one of the hardest racers out there, but you dont have to play it that way.

It's not like GTR at all. That game was fun, but damn hardcore.

It's similar to Gran Turismo. You can significantly tone down the difficulty with assists and driving aids, anyway.

Ahh Great.

Although I wasn't very good at GT atleast I managed to have fun with it. My best friend is as hardcore racer as you can get.. (bought a 800dollar racing seat, just to give you an idea.) and I tried playing GTR at his place, it was pure torture and the only way I managed to beat him as if I ran him down in the first turn.

Now a game similar to GT is more up my alley, and if these driving assists can give me a little edge to my friend maybe I can even beat him once or twice. :D

Forza 2 can be easy, yeah if you turn on the driving line and difficulty to amateur, but that aside it's the best racer there is at the mo and will be for a while, you could compare it too GT3/4 if you want...... but Forza 2's in a league of it's own.

Early on you can win easier by cheating the system and out-powering the competition. However, this game has realistic physics and will eventually require you to learn how to race. If you are not a big fan of racing games, and more specifically DRIVING, I wouldn't start with this one.

Edit: I do race on professional level, so my perspective may be scewed a bit.

I don't find GTR too hard actually but in comparison i'd say Forza 2 can be easy and it can be difficult depending on the assists you have turned on or off. If you can handle GT the you'll be fine with Forza

It's the best racing game ...ever.... as far as I'm concerned and not being that good at driving games doesn't matter so much ... it can give you the racing line showing you where to brake and be affective around the track ... it almost teaches you to drive well and when you get better turn off the assists to get more cash What I also love about this game is the "high reward" factor ... you get new cars after each couple of races .... so you play with that new car and win more ... it just keeps you going!! .... cannot recomend this game enough!!!

Just lower the AI difficulty, keep the assists on and make sure you mod out your car right and you'll do fine. Guaranteed you'll have a blast ;)

If need be the racing line make this game beyond easy. And if you want to make it even more simple, just hire a AI driver. they will take a cut of the winnings though. I mean how much easier does it get when youve got a line on the track that dynamically changes color telling you to brake or give it gas. Almost turns the game from a racer to some simple mini game.

forza is very scalable. it has options you turn off or on to make it easier for beginners to handle the cars, you can adjust the ai for the other drivers. you can upgrade and tune your cars for how you drive. the game is great, it is easy enough for the beginners to play and have fun, and yes even win. it can be made hard enough even real driver from 12 hours of sebring couldn't beat it at full difficulty (they needed abs).

There are more than enough options to make the game as hard or easy as you want or for your skill level.

go to the right. what i mean is in the race menues. as you open new events they will pay more, so to make the most money play the series farthest to the right in the menue, in the series play the events farthest to the right. thats where the biggest paydays are. that will also open up new even higher paying events up faster since you level based on winnings. turn off damage so that damages aren't taken out of your winnings. also turn off fuel and tires. you can put it back to harder levels after you have the money you want.

Thanks for all the response I've recieved here.

Little over an hour after writing this topic I bought the game, and so far I have to say it's the best driving game I have ever played. My problem when playing similar games have been either my lack of knowing when or where to break or simply going too fast and breaking too late. With the Break line turned on though I have solved this problem and even a complete amateur at racing games (which I am) can get by.

I have now completed about 25% of the game and the difficulty has yet to get to a point where I can't manage, hell I even won a few races on Laguna Seca, a course I have feared since GT2 or 3! Even though my friend stil is far better than me I manage to keep up just fine as we are cooperating through career mode. And the possibility of hiring drivers to do the work for me should make even the hardest race simple.

The best thing is the lack of S license (or anything similar) from the GT games, which I think involved an obscene amount of laps on Laguna Seca with a Viper without Traction Control.

I would recommend this game to both experts and beginners. Not to mention those who like to watch others play (yes they exist too) since they can hire a driver to do everything for you.
