Forza 2 Hard?

I just got Forza 2 a while ago, and I've been doing the practice mode forever now. I then go into an intermediate match in career, and I fail miserably, 10 times in 7th place. This is ridiculous, especially since I'm pretty seasoned at PGR3. It's nothing like it.

Any advice you guys?

It's starting to frustrate me:)

i play all natural :D

 anyway it's all about your spacing and how careful you press the gass and the breaks. and where your car has to be positioned when taking curves. the green line should help you quite a lot.

well thats coz pgr is a silly little arcade racer and now u've stepped up into simulation territory where u MUST break to turn a corner and if you take the wrong line and dont hit the apex of the corner your competitors will come out usually with more speed then u on the exit. Add all the tuning options with those little annoyances and of course its nothing like pgr. 

Well since im not sure what your driving techniques are I'm just going to tell you the basics.  Make sure you brake before the turn, that means that before you even start turning, your car should be at a low enough speed to complete the turn.  You don't want to continue braking into the turn, that will just cause your car to understeer and send you sliding into the grass.  Now you coast about half way into the turn and then accellerate out of the turn.  Keep in mind however that different cars react differently while turning.  It is good practice to gently apply the gas as you are coing out the turn and add more throttle as you begin to straighten out your car.

Other tips

- Try the lowest difficulty if you haven't already, the racing line will show you exactly when to brake, coast, and accellerate as well as the best line to take through the course.   

- Try and out class your opponents.  Sometimes a quicker car can help make up for flaws in your racing technique.

- Keep in mind that Forza is a Driving Simulator, unlike PGR 3 which you sound aquainted with.  In PGR its possible to pull your e-brake and slide around around a turn, in Forza that is not the case.  These cars drive like real life cars, keep that in mind and you'll get the hang of it. 

Whats the problem?

Crashing?  Penalty times (hitting other cars, driving in grass, etc)? Or just getting out raced?

I didn't buy the game but i played the demo, and it was extremely hard for me to control.  I couldn't keep the car on the track for more than 30 seconds. 

Like others have said, set all settings on and learn the optimal brake and gas lines.  That way, you can kind of get a feel of the correct way to control a car through a curve.

It's already been said PGR=arcade racer, Forza2=Racing sim.  It seems like it sucks to slow down to 30mph on a tight turn at first, but there's few things that are more exhilerating than getting around the bend and putting the hammer down.

I am trying to get to the point were i can do that. I try to turn off thee braking line, but then turn it back on because of using a new car. I have however taken off traction control and i always have simulation damage (if you don't have it you try driving more like an arcade racer). I haven't really tried taking off anti-lock braking, but i may eventually.

Oh for learning the game i would actually suggest paying a lot of attention to the tips during the loading screens (even if some don't make sense to you). The most helpful one for turns is the ones about slowing down and speeding up along with friction. They pretty much say don't be massively pulling on the brake or gas while in the turn, but you can ease up on the brake while coming into the turn and ease down on the gas. I call it "ease cornering"... Instead of slamming on the brakes and smashing on the gas start braking earlier, but pushing down a lot slower this way if you see you are still coming in to fast you can push down harder on the brake without sliding as much. It is the same with the gas, but when you go out of a turn ease down on the gas and once you start to straighten out push it down harder.
