So, heres my problem. Got lil cash at the mo, lookin to save a bit, meaning I can only buy myself one game. Pretty sure that its gonna be a racin one as I'm really in the mood for one and its been a long time since I've had that Grand Turismo style experience. However...Is it gonna be Forza 2 or McRae: Dirt...What you guys think? I know Forza has got 9.2 rating but there aint a review for dirt yet and I' fed up of waiting around, however the user reviews have given it around the same, 9.2-5 area. So I'm strugglin to decide which one. I love bein able to customise my cars, lots of realistic details etc, which would be forza I guess, but I also love a bit of dirt and drifting..So is one of them outright better than the other?

Cheers

John.

I personally like Forza more, DIRT was alright from what i got out of the demo but the depth of Forza is so much better. Maybe the retail version of DIRT will be better than the demo but the customization options and the sim like racing is what does it for me. Dirt got an 8,4 from IGN, Forza got an 8.9 from them.

Go with Forza 2. It's the deeper and richer gameplay experience, and it'll last you a lot longer than DiRT.

I am personally getting both, but i would go with Forza 2 because there is more to do in the game: customize cars, tune cars, auction house, excellent onlline, car gifting. Its just a very well polished game!

Well if you like realistic driving games, Forza 2 is definitely the way to go. It's so deep, and theres so much to do online and offline that it'll last you a very long time.

DiRT is a fun game, since the handling is less realistic and allows for arcadier racing, but it isn't nearly as deep as Forza 2, and the online is lacking.

ditto. i've been playing Forza 2 alot, and i'm about 70% done with career. Forza will last you a lot longer, so i suggest that one. I plan on renting dirt for the graphical wow factor, but after playing Forza 2, i can't stand the way cars control in DiRT. good luck.

I will be picking up Dirt today, however I do have Forza 2. It all depends on what type of racer you prefer.

If you are after a GT experience then go with Forza all the way DiRT is just arcade and not being able to race online isn't doing it for me ....

OK dirt got an 8.3 and I tried out the demo and don't think it matches forza 2. Since you are looking for a gran turismo type of game I would recommend forza motorsport 2 because it takes gran turismo to the next level.

I'm picking up DiRT today. However, these are two very different racing games so it just comes down to preference. Like everyone else has said, Arcade racing fans go for DiRT while Simulation racing fans go for Forza 2. I personally hate sim racing games so that's why I'm going for DiRT.

DiRT is a rally simulation game if you are unfamiliar with the sport research about it the cars are tuned to react like that.

Forza on the other hand is also a simulation but its more generaly motorsport racing so the cars need to handle realisticaly.

Get both.

You can then have the best of both worlds. Arcade and Sim.
