I would rather have a brand new game released every couple years, or instead of seemingly having a new game from a franchise every year, have one every two or three years so that they can take time to actually re work the game and make it worthwhile. There never seems to be enough improvement in a game over a year. For me some franchises that should take a break or slow down are
Need For Speed - Yet again nothing new really ever introduced and when something new is in there, it's not worth payin $60 for the game again
Smackdown Series - Here Comes The Pain was the best wrestling game since No Mercy, they had a new control scheme, updated graphics, new match types, body damage, and a great roster. Since then though the games seem to be lacking to me, 07 had the whole 'arena moves' which were just kinda gimmicky to me because they weren't really practical IMO
Pretty much All Sports games - I'd be fine playing an 'okay' game for an extra year if they'd give a roster update over live...I remember on PC they use to give roster updates even after they released a new game. I don't want more new features with my games if the gameplay always has the same crappy bugs in it
Tony Hawk - Change the camera, update the graphics so they're not so cartoony, introduce a new manual/grind system because honestly ever since THPS3 if you're good at one THPS, you're good at all of them.
