for games that are also on Windows was the deal. Halo3 isnt on Windows (or is it) and im able to play online as if I had a gold account.

Maybe they're just allowing it to be free until the NXE or alittle after so more people will play online. So when they start charging non-gold members will want gold afterwards? Who knows but i wont fight it my gold is expiring soon and i'll play what i can.

im not trying to stop it i think they should keep it this waysplintersix

yea but hopefully they will continue this free route. Someone from MS said only for games that are on windows until NXE and halo3 isnt on windows and it works and others.

There are some games like Shadowrun that are free due to Microsoft making GWL free

Well I know when you make a silver account you get 1 month of gold FREE and there are 4 WEEKS in a month Gamefreak1296

but the gamercard is gold when you get the free month trail, in this case its silver.

where, I didnt see a ad. But w/e. Its moments like these that allow me to not pay for LIVE. Offer free weekends is great because thats when I play the most anyway.And im still silver.
